Taylor Swift: 'I'm not afraid to show real or raw emotions'

'I Knew You Were Trouble' songstress Taylor Swift has confessed that she writes about such personal subject matter in her songs because she isn't afraid to show genuine emotion in public.

During a new interview with New York magazine, the beauty confessed that she finds it tough to be honest and open, but believes it's important to be that way and isn't scared to let it all out:

"I think allowing yourself to feel raw, real emotions in public is something I am never going to be afraid to do. Hopefully that's the case, if I can remain a real human. I'm fine with being honest with my fans about the fact that it's okay that everything isn't okay all the time."

"I love my life, I love my career, I love my friends - but things are not OK all the time. So I don't sing about things being OK all the time."

Swift also joked that for now, she's very happy being a country-pop superstar but when she starts getting to the age where it's a little inappropriate for whatever reason, she wants to write songs for other artists who are just breaking onto the scene:

"When I'm 40 and nobody wants to see me in a sparkly dress anymore, I'll be, like, 'Cool, I'll just go in the studio and write songs for kids.' It's looking like a good pension plan." Watch her music video for 'The Last Time' below:
