Taylor Swift: 'I'm obsessed with my new album'

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that she's really excited about the direction of her forthcoming new studio album and is a little 'obsessed' with the progress she has made on it so far.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about the project, the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' superstar explained that she has established the record's identity and is looking forward to getting deeper into it because it's very 'promising' at such an early stage:

"I'm so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that's different from everything that we've done before, an identity to a new record. Having come upon that so early in the process is just really thrilling."

"I've got a lot of time to write more, but it's really looking promising so far… It's way ahead of schedule. So I'm really stoked for you to hear it."

At the American Music Awards over the weekend, Swift told the press that she has around 7 songs that she hopes will make the album's final tracklisting: "We got a lot already. There are probably seven or eight [songs] that I know I want on the record. It's really ahead of schedule for me."
