Taylor Swift gets birthday serenade from fans in Australia

Country-pop songstress Taylor Swift is due to celebrate her 24th birthday on December 13, but an arena full of fans decided to share well wishes with her a few days in advance at a recent concert in Australia.

She performed in Perth today and was overwhelmed when the crowd sang 'Happy Birthday' to her from the auditorium as she played live for them.

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier this afternoon (December 11), Swift thanked her followers and those who attended the gig for singing to her:

"Perth! Insane crowd! When you randomly all started singing happy birthday... Well played :) On another note, watching @cd_henderson try to cure a headache with Skittles and Red Bull before the show was truly inspiring."

Swift, meanwhile, is currently working on her forthcoming new studio album and recently told the Rolling Stone that she is "obsessed" with how it's sounding: "I'm so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that's different from everything that we've done before, an identity to a new record. Having come upon that so early in the process is just really thrilling."
