Taylor Swift celebrates birthday with Golden Globe nomination

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift is celebrating her 24th birthday today (December 13), but she has received a one of a kind gift in the form of a coveted award nomination.

The beauty has been put up for the Best Original Song – Motion Picture prize at the 2014 Golden Globes for her track 'Sweeter Than Fiction', which features on the soundtrack to the movie about 'Britain's Got Talent' winner Paul Potts, 'One Chance'

Writing about the nod on her official Twitter page earlier this morning, Swift explained that she is over the moon about being nominated and said it has made her day that much more special:

"A Golden Globe nomination on my birthday... I think it's safe to say there will be no walking for me today, only skipping and frolicking."

Other songs that she will compete against include Demi Lovato's 'Frozen', Coldplay's 'Atlas' from the new 'Hunger Games' installation, and U2's 'Ordinary Love' from the new 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' movie.
