Taylor Swift discusses collaborative new album: "I want to be around people who love writing songs"

Taylor Swift has been sharing information about the work going into her new album.

Although currently on tour to promote her album ‘Red’, Swift is already making progress on her next record.

Speaking to Billboard, the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ singer revealed she is enjoying working with others on her latest recordings. Swift stated:

“I'm really loving collaboration right now. I see it as a bit of an apprenticeship. I want to be around people who love writing songs and have done it for years.”

She added: “Every time I'm in a studio I'm learning, like how to build a drum track, and getting a new perspective on things. It's so thrilling to keep learning on your fifth album.”

The 24-year-old country-pop star also hinted at her upcoming material taking her sound in a different direction as she explained:

“As soon as [an album] comes out, I'm figuring out what the next one will be. It's gotten to the point where each one is a reinvention, which is what I like best. I like it when it sounds new and people don't know where you're going to go next.”

Taylor Swift expressed excitement about working on new music last month by telling Rolling Stone that she is “obsessed” with her new album.
