The Darkness' Justin Hawkins praises Adam Lambert's Queen work

The Darkness singer Justin Hawkins believes Adam Lambert is "one of the few" singers who can do Queen's songs justice.

The US star toured with the British rockers last year as they travelled the globe.

Speaking to Pressparty today (May 29), Hawkins - who wrote Lambert's 2009 song 'Music Again' - praised his work with Queen, who are a big influence on The Darkness.

The Brit said: "He's one of the few people out there that could do that sort of thing. He's got the range to be able to sing the more demanding Queen songs.

"I do admire his talents. I wrote a song on his first album, so I've known him for a while now. I'm really happy for him."

The Darkness meanwhile will release their new album 'Last of Our Kind' on Monday (June 1).

Check back on Pressparty for the full interview with Hawkins next week.
