The Darkness to support Lady Gaga in the UK

Rockers The Darkness have revealed that they will be supporting pop superstar Lady Gaga on her UK Born This Way Ball tour dates.

Earlier this morning (April 10), Gaga unveiled the list of European cities and venues that she will visit on the long-awaited new tour and it has now been confirmed that The Darkness will provide support at both the London and Manchester dates.

Speaking to Newsbeat, frontman Justin Hawkins explained:

"It was put to me as a question - do we want to be a main support band on one of the biggest - if not the biggest - stadium, worldwide mega-tours that have ever been? And, I think I replied, 'Yes please'. It was really straight forward."

"I'm surprised that we're considered heavy enough for it," he continued. "I think she likes a lot of stuff that's more extreme than what we do. Obviously, I'm delighted. I have no expectations - we're going to turn up and enjoy it."
