The Killers' Brandon Flowers confirms new solo album

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed that progress is underway on a new solo album.

The US star first went it alone with 2010's 'Flamingo' and he told NME that progress has been made on its follow-up.

He said: "The record's not done yet, but I'm excited about it. I'm liking it."

Flowers added that he is working on the record with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who has previously teamed with acts like Madonna, Vampire Weekend and Haim.

The singer said: "He's taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the songs end up. But he'll take the song and be like, 'I hear this'. It's incredible - his palette and his range, what he's able to say. He'll try other ways of doing things and that's something I've never really done.

"At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off. We're on a roll now."

The Killers' last record meanwhile came in the shape of 2012's 'Battle Born'.

In 2013 they played a landmark headline show at London's Wembley Stadium.
