The Killers team with Jimmy Kimmel for Christmas song 'Joel, the Lump of Coal'

The Killers have released a new Christmas song.

The US group have teamed up with US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel to create the tune 'Joel, the Lump of Coal'.

Kimmel provides the voice of Santa in the track, which is raising funds for the RED charity campaign.

The blurb for the tune's video on YouTube reads:

"Every year since 2006, The Killers write and record a special Christmas song for a very good charity - the RED campaign. They usually collaborate on these.

"Some of the artists they've worked with include the band Dawes, Neil Tennant and Elton John. Needless to say, Jimmy was flattered that they asked him to be a part of it this year."

In 2013 The Killers joined forces with Dawes on the track 'Christmas in L.A.'.
