The Script No.1 on UK albums chart

The Script's 'No Sound Without Silence' has shot straight to No.1 on the UK albums chart.

The Irish pop-rock group release the album earlier this week and today (September 17) the Official Charts Company confirmed that it is No.1.

Their midweek update reveals that the record is outselling its nearest competitor by over 10,000 copies. If it stays put come the weekend, it will give The Script their third UK No.1 record.

At No.2 on the update meanwhile is Barbra Streisand's fellow new entry 'Partners', whilst Chris Brown's 'X' follows at No.3.

At No.4 is the previous chart-topper - Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' - at No.5 is Slash's newbie 'World On Fire'.

Other new entry's this week include 'Bulletproof Picasso' by Train (No.7), Catfish and the Bottlemen's 'The Balcony' (No.8) and Counting Crows' 'Somewhere Under Wonderland' (No.12).
