The Script to battle Example for this week's No.1 position on singles chart

Irish rockers The Script have managed to maintain their No.1 position in today's (September 19) midweek chart update with 'Hall of Fame', but they're being challenged by Example who has shot in at No.2 with his new single, 'Say Nothing'.

The Official Charts Company has confirmed that there are only 2,000 copies separating both acts so their midweek places may change by the weekend when the UK Top 40 is revealed.

P!nk's latest single, 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' has climbed up 1 to No.4, Taylor Swift's break-up anthem 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' has risen 2 places to No.5, and Amelia Lily's former midweek No.1 'You Bring Me Joy' has dropped to No.6.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, Dappy has a new entry at No.8 with 'Good Intentions' and if it remains in the Top 10 until Sunday it'll be his third solo single to achieve this feat. Conor Maynard's collaboration with Ne-Yo on 'Turn Around' has shot up an impressive 14 places to No.24.
