The Script and Rita Ora hope for BRIT nominations

The Script and Rita Ora have revealed what it would mean to them if they landed nominations for the 2013 BRIT Awards.

Acts will find out later today (January 10) at a London launch ceremony if they are up for any BRITs this year.

Speaking to Capital FM, The Script's Danny O'Donoghue admitted that it would be "incredible" to get a nod - but he reiterated that it wouldn't be the end of the world if the trio didn't get honoured. He said:

"Of course any type of tip of the hat you know is incredible. But I think as most musicians know, it's not about that for us. It's just about the music."

The Voice UK coach continued: "We're not one of the most awarded bands or critically acclaimed bands, but it doesn't stop us from making really heartfelt music that we want to make. If we're recognised for that – fantastic. If not, it doesn't matter."

Rita Ora meanwhile told the radio station that it would be a "huge deal" to land a nomination. She said: "Oh man, I can't tell you. I think you'll have to come back to me if that happens. I don't think I can say anything right now. It's a huge deal of course. To get a nomination...I feel like that's great enough. It would be amazing."

The 2013 BRITs are due to take place on February 20.
