The Wanted reassure fans that this isn't the end: 'You can't get rid of us that easily!'

'Chasing The Sun' heartthrobs The Wanted shocked their fans earlier this evening (January 22) by confirming that they will go on hiatus following the end of their upcoming 'Word Of Mouth' tour, but have now reassured their followers that it won't be for good.

A message shared from the boyband's official Twitter page explained: "This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour's conclusion."

"The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour."

Now, member Tom Parker has taken to his own social networking page to comfort upset fans by telling them that they're not splitting permanently and it's just a career break: "Just want to say...It's a break, not the end. You can't get rid of us that easily haha!"

Their tour, which The Vamps will also be on as the main support act, is due to kick off in March and so far, other singers from The Wanted have posted messages of gratitude to their fans on Twitter with star Nathan Sykes writing: "I love you guys."
