Nathan Sykes admits The Wanted hiatus will be "lengthy"

Nathan Sykes has confirmed that The Wanted's impending split will be a long one.

The British-Irish group announced earlier this year that their March and April UK tour would be their last for a long time as they look into solo endeavours.

Speaking to Maximum Pop, singer Sykes confirmed fans' worst fears by suggesting that they will be out of the game for a long time.

He said: "It is just a break at the moment for everyone to go off and do their own thing for a bit, but you never know what's gonna happen. It could be a long break or it could be quite a short one, but it's probably going to be quite a lengthy one if I'm honest.

"Obviously you never know what's gonna happen in the future. We might go out for a couple of drinks, and in a few minutes' time say 'Well actually, we'd all like to get back in the studio' so you never know what's gonna happen."

Sykes added: "Everyone's really looking forward to the tour. They really can't wait to get out on the road and see all the fans and this tour for us is just like a big old thank you to all the fans for their amazing support they've given us over the last like four or five years."

Bandmate Siva Kaneswaran recently went on record to say that their US reality TV show caused divisions in the group, whilst bandmate Max George alluded to their label dropping them.
