Heartthrobs The Wanted have revealed that they spent time in the studio earlier this week working on new material.

The lads are now back in New York City, where they will perform a concert at the Beacon Theatre later this evening (June 14), but managed to find a few hours to record some new music for their highly anticipated third album.

Singer Nathan Sykes tweeted: "In the studio!! Looking forward to my writing session later with @cjbaran. Just been informed by @alexanderdeleon that he is in LA n writing with me and @cjbaran!! I'm now so excited I might have to turn up early!!"

Max George added: "Studio today has been top!!!"

During a recent interview with Sugarscape, George and fellow band member Jay McGuiness opened up about the debauchery they encountered while in Las Vegas and admitted that although no tigers entered their hotel room, Sykes woke up with a dog in his bed:

"I think Nath woke up with a dog in his... it was a total smelly bitch, but she was a pedigree though!"

McGuiness quickly clarified his comments and explained: "I meant a female dog!"
