The Wanted's Max George escaped uninjured after arm caught fire

The Wanted star Max George escaped "disaster" after a pyrotechnic accident.

The singer told The Sun that his jacket came out worse for wear whilst near a pyro display in Los Angeles during the American Music Awards.

Thankfully, he was uninjured in the incident - but it could have been much worse. George said:

"It was scary, my arm was on fire. Luckily there was no damage but it could have been a disaster."

The 'I Found You' man isn't the first music star to have an accident with pyrotechnics, with Michael Jackson suffering burns whilst shooting a Pepsi advert in 1984.

Metallica mainman James Hetfield meanwhile also suffered burns when a pyro malfunctioned during a gig in Canada in 1992.
