The Wanted's Nathan Sykes homesick as surgery recovery begins

The Wanted's Nathan Sykes has admitted that he misses the UK as he recovers from a throat operation in the US.

As previously reported, the singer recently underwent surgery on his vocal cord after a reported hemorrhaging nodule was found.

It means he needs to take an "unforeseen hiatus" from The Wanted as he recuperates from the operation, which could take months.

The group have been in the US for some time to film a new reality TV show but speaking on Twitter, Sykes admitted that he is homesick. He said:

"LA, I love you …but nearly 2 and a half months without being home is killing me. My cat isn't even gonna remember who I am when I get home…sad times."

Sykes meanwhile has also been spotted in a wheelchair as he recovers from his operation, which reportedly could see the singer unable to speak for a period of time.
