The Wanted worried that Nathan Sykes may never sing again

The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran has admitted that he is fearful bandmate Nathan Sykes may not be able to sing again.

As previously reported, Sykes recently underwent surgery after doctors discovered a hemorrhaging nodule on his vocal cord.

His recovery is set to take months and Kaneswaran told BBC Newsbeat that the band simply don't know what Sykes' vocal condition will be like in the future. He said:

"It takes a long time for the vocal cords to heal properly. If it doesn't heal in a certain way, it's going to take a lot longer."

The singer added: "He might not be able to sing at all, who knows? You've just got to wait and see."

Kaneswaran also confirmed that a lot of The Wanted's new songs already have Sykes' vocals recorded on them.

As previously reported, the group debuted new single 'Walks Like Rihanna' on UK radio today (April 29).
