The Wanted's Nathan Sykes: 'Vocal surgery almost gave me a panic attack'

Singer Nathan Sykes, of The Wanted fame, has explained that undergoing vocal surgery back in April was so stressful that he almost suffered panic attacks at the thought of going under the knife to save his voice.

During a new interview with Entertainmentwise, the 'Glad You Came' star explained that his career was hanging in the balance before the operation and it was a risky procedure so he was naturally incredibly nervous to have it done:

"It has been a scary time, I think just before I went under the anaesthetic for the operation I kind of had a bit of a panic attack. I was like, 'My career is in your hands!'"

Last night, Sykes shared a photograph of the boyband sat in a meeting and accompanied the candid snap with the telling caption: "Deciding the album..."

Speaking on ITV's 'Daybreak' earlier today (June 14), the young heartthrob confessed that the recovery process has been just as difficult: "It was pretty severe. I was pretty scared for a while, it wasn't pleasant. It's a lot better, there's still a bit of recovery to do, but slowly and steadily and all that."
