The Wanted almost split over Las Vegas gig

The Wanted nearly split up after a Las Vegas bust-up with Siva Kaneswaran.

The chart-topping boyband - also comprising Jay McGuiness, Max George, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes - are currently promoting their new E! reality TV show 'The Wanted Life.'

While filming for the show, they were booked for a gig in Sin City, with management suggesting that girlfriends not come along for "male bonding time".

Kaneswaran frustrated the band when he refused to go unless he could be accompanied by partner Nareesha.

George revealed: “What lad wouldn’t like Vegas? It’s got casinos, lots of women, strippers, bars, clubs, rollercoasters. We got offered a lot of money to do a big show. It was a no-brainer. All of a sudden he just turned round and said: ‘I’m not going.’ I don’t get annoyed very often but that did annoy me.”

Kaneswaran admitted: “I know Nareesha won’t be happy about the no-girlfriends rule and, quite frankly, I don’t want to go anywhere without her.”

Sykes confronted his bandmate about his refusal to join the rest of the group explaining: “You can’t not do the gig. Are you actually contemplating not doing the gig? That’s ridiculous.”

Kaneswaran replied: “I’m thinking about it. I don’t want to go.”

Parker also gave his opinion on the situation: “If Siva doesn’t come to Vegas, it’s not going to be a good image on stage. This is our job and it’s what we get paid to do, so he needs to be there.”

Kaneswaran was seen having a heart-to-heart with his girlfriend on screen and was told: “If you go, then we don’t have a relationship.”

After saying: “I love my girlfriend so much and, who knows, the band could split up tomorrow. But I’ll always have my girlfriend", the boyband hunk went to Vegas with the rest of the group.

However, the atmosphere was tense when the singer stormed off after the gig.

Parker said: “I do take it personally. He sees us just as work colleagues and not friends. I was so pissed off. It was very abrupt. If Siva keeps distancing himself from the group, it’s only going to get harder. And that’s eventually how groups split up.”
