The Wanted say One Direction chickened out of a planned confrontation

Singer Max George, of The Wanted fame, has revealed that fellow UK boyband One Direction "did a runner" when they were given the chance to meet in person and resolve their ongoing feud.

Speaking exclusively to this weekend's 'Fabulous' magazine, on which they also grace the cover (pictured below), the lads explained that they offered the 'Little Things' heartthrobs the opportunity to meet them in New York City but they failed to show.

"That's the 100% God's honest truth. They got the car pulled up to the back of the stage and got straight in it," George recalled.

Earlier this month, hitmaker George told Yahoo! OMG that he would "absolutely" win in a fight against 1D's Zayn Malik and also opened up about the planned crisis talk that never happened: "I asked them to meet us in New York, but they didn't. If he has asked then and I said no, I must have said it by accident. Absolutely, why not? Let's do it."
