Singer Max George, of The Wanted fame, has revealed that bandmate Jay McGuiness is sporting a new haircut thanks to him and a pair of clippers after a "drunken night in".

Speaking to Digital Spy at the Pride of Britain awards last night (October 7), George confessed: "I actually cut it on a drunken night in and I think it looks alright. It was impromptu, but I think he's looking pretty smart."

The 'Chasing The Sun' heartthrob added that his decision to throw the hair into the crowd came after he couldn't find a bag to put the clippings in: ""I couldn't find a bag, so I just used whatever I could find."

George also joked that he was then shown a photograph of the girl who was 'lucky' enough to catch the sock full of shaven hair: "I actually saw a picture of the girl who got it and she'd obviously had a fight over it because it was ripped to shreds, but she managed to keep hold of the hair. As long as no-one gets injured it is [a bit of fun]. It's when they get hurt that you're like, 'Oh God, what have I done?'"

Back in August, meanwhile, McGuiness was named the sexiest male vegetarian celebrity by PETA2, which is the animal rights charity's U.S. youth division.
