The Wanted praise JLS for 'paving the way' for other boybands

'Chasing The Sun' superstars The Wanted have credited JLS with the success they have enjoyed together as they were really the first boyband to 'open the market' in the 'X Factor' generation.

Heartthrob Max George told Alex James on 'InDemand' that the group paved the way for all-male acts such as themselves so they owe them a lot:

"What they've done is great. They opened up a huge market coming off 'X Factor', when there weren't as many boybands at the time."

He added: "They're still doing arena tours. They've done great and we wish them really well with whatever they're doing in the future."

JLS, meanwhile, announced plans to split following their farewell arena tour, which is set to kick off on December 1 in Belfast. The final date will take place at London's O2 Arena on December 22.
