Tulisa Contostavlos has lent her support to axed X Factor contestant Joseph Whelan.

The wannabe singer was dropped from the show during the Boot Camp phase and the decision didn't sit too well with the public.

A number of fans were shocked that Whelan didn't make the Judges' Houses stage and a Facebook page was created to drum up support for his return.

X Factor judge Tulisa told the Huffington Post that she backs the campaign, but she isn't too optimistic on it happening. She said:

"I have no idea what the likelihood of that happening is, but I can say everyone wants a bit of eye candy every year and a nice male figure. All of the judges have different opinions. Sometimes it's not unanimous and everyone is making different decisions. From the get go I wanted him in the competition."

Tulisa continued: "I think he's gorgeous but I was battled with on that one. I am actually a Joseph fan so, 'Hey, bring back Joseph'."
