Usher has spoken of his appreciation for his fans after they supported him throughout his recent family tragedy.

The singer's 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover passed away in July after being involved in a jet ski accident.

Usher performed at the opening night of the iTunes Festival in London on Saturday (September 1) and he told Capital FM the day after the show that he is thankful for his fans' words of goodwill. He said:

"I appreciate each and every one of those [messages of support]. Which is why I performed 'Without You' to my fans last night.

He continued: "It was intended to be a very intimate moment, just to say thank you for all of their support. You know, my fans are just loyal. They've been there with me through the hardest times, they've been there with me through my greater times."
