Usher excited to be a mentor on The Voice USA

Usher has revealed his excitement after being announced as one of the new mentors for The Voice USA's 2013 season.

The R&B star, who will join Shakira as the replacements for Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green for the fourth series next year, told MTV News that he can’t wait to get started:

“Man, you have no idea. I have not spoken to anyone with regards to [the show]. It's still new news, but I'm really excited about it.”

The ‘Climax’ singer, who this week announced a UK tour, went on to add that he’s always loved the show’s unique approach to finding talent:

"It's the type of show that I feel really sets up an artist and makes it about what matters most first: the voice.

“Everything else comes afterwards in terms of the mentors; that's what gives the personality, gives the opportunity to be an artist who will excel and transcend culture and also be able to tell an incredible story in music. So I like being able to be at that place. I love being a mentor."
