Usher was always certain he was going to be a music superstar

'Burn' hitmaker Usher, who is currently working as a coach on 'The Voice USA', has revealed that from a very young age he was sure of his career path and always knew he would be a star in the music world.

Speaking to Pharrell Williams for his TV show 'Artist TLK', Usher explained he was defiant in knowing what his future held and would often tell people he was going to be as big as the late King of Pop:

"Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson that's what I'm gonna do. People are like 'Sure kid, whatever.' And I'm like, 'No, no, no. That's what I'm gonna do.'"

"If I had come out as a kid artist then I kinda woulda got lost in the kid thing, but you put me with Puff [Daddy, now P. Diddy, an early mentor], at the time when Puff was hot, [I] blew 'em away."

He also recently confirmed that he is working on a new album and teased: "It's gonna be freaking out of here, man. Space and sky, that's what it'll be. You look up, and it's everything you can imagine."
