Victoria Beckham admits her trademark Posh Spice dress was a high street design

Victoria Beckham has revealed that her wardrobe from her Posh Spice days was not so posh.

During her time in the pop group Victoria Beckham was known for wearing a trademark little black dress.

So often would she wear black dresses that a joke was made about it in the band’s 1998 feature film ‘Spiceworld’.

When contemplating what to wear, fellow Spice Girl Mel C quips to Victoria:

“I bet it must be really hard for you Victoria, ya know, trying to decide whether to wear the little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress or the the little Gucci dress” (see video below).

However, Victoria Beckham has now admitted that her dress was not from Gucci but from British high street retailer Miss Selfridge.

During an interview as part of The Skype Collaboration project, the pop singer-turned-fashion designer said:

"The first dress that I wore in the Spice Girls, which everybody thought was a little black Gucci dress, was actually from Miss Selfridge - it wasn't a little back Gucci dress."

The 39-year-old style icon also spoke about her first taste of high fashion as she recalled:

“When I was in the Spice Girls I got invited to go to a Versace fashion show, and I'd never been to a fashion show and Donatella Versace flew me, on a private plane with my friend, to Milan. It was all very glamorous and it was taking me into a completely different world.”

Despite reminiscing about her Spice Girl days Victoria Beckham has previously stated that she will not be reuniting with the band again.
