Victoria Beckham: 'I want to design a shoe collection'

Former Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham has confessed that her next move in the fashion world is likely to be the creation and subsequent launch of her debut shoe line.

She is currently at New York Fashion Week and spoke to reporters yesterday (February 12) about her desire to branch into footwear:

"You know, I do want to start a shoe collection. If anybody here is a shoe designer, please do come and see me! I definitely think shoes is probably the next category that I'll look at going into."

The superstar added that making shoes is something she has no experience in so she wants to make sure she knows what she's doing before attempting to design footwear: "It's quite a competitive category but I would love to go into it. I actually work with Manolo Blahnik on the shoes for my show every season and working with him is remarkable."

"I think it's very complicated, I wouldn't just want to do a signature shoe - I'd have to make sure I'm working with the right factories, do a flat."

Back in January, Beckham explained that she will be opening a store in Londonlater this year: "I think the time is now because I know my customer. It will be the first time that the people will really be able to see the brand through my eyes."
