Victoria Beckham: 'I want to empower women'

Former Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham has opened up about her love of fashion and designing clothes, and confessed that she's always inspired to carry on in the creative industry because it provides her with a platform to 'empower women'.

Speaking to Elle Singapore about her goals with her fashion line, the singer and designer explained that it's important to her to support women: "I want to make a woman feel her best. I want to empower women."

"It's important that it comes from me. I don't want to hand that over to anybody else. I wouldn't know how to. I don't ever think of the negatives, I think of the positives. I'm not competing with anybody else out there; I'm just competing with myself."

Beckham then went onto add that she feels as though she has nothing to prove, but simply loves to challenge herself so will push her limits as and when she can: "I never went into this to prove anything to anybody, other than myself. I think if you're too afraid of failure then you won't challenge yourself, then you won't move forward. I like to challenge myself."
