Victoria Beckham: 'I have the confidence now to wear flat shoes to work'

Former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham has revealed that she no longer feels the need to dress up for her day job because she's confident enough in herself to wear clothes that she can move around easily in and still look stylish.

Speaking to The Independent in her native Britain, the superstar explained that she simply doesn't have time to parade around in high-heeled shoes anymore because she is too busy to be that cautious about walking:

"When I first started, I used to wear a lot of tight dresses. Lots of heels. And I still do dress like that, but I suppose, as time has gone on, I've loosened up a bit. I'm busier now - so I couldn't totter around in a tight dress and a pair of heels! I think I feel a little more relaxed."

She went onto add that 'looking the part' was important when she was initially launching her fashion career, but she now has the confidence to dress for comfort and practicality:

"I suppose if I'm being honest, I would have been scared, right at the beginning, to wear lots of layers and to wear a flat shoe. I would have been scared to do that. Now I'm not. As you get older you get a different kind of confidence."
