ALTERNATIVE SOUL NEWCOMER ADAKU UNVEILS NEW SINGLE "GHOSTS"

Introducing alternative Soul singer, songwriter and musician Adaku who is proud to unveil her brand new single titled “Ghosts”, taken from her forthcoming debut album Plasma to be released in April 2014.

Produced by Paul Boanton, “Ghosts” is a guitar-led stirring Soul opus with lush Jazz leanings, which sees Adakucaptivating her listener with a rousing and emotive vocal display filled with the utmost passion, pitch-perfect control and brilliance that is hardly seen in an emerging artist.

Lyrically, Adaku paints a reflective and solemn tale of elusive relationships and fickle protagonists who, like revolving doors, come in and out of our lives, appearing and disappearing like ghosts. “I dont speak to ghost, I dont want to cry no more, I don't mess with the dead. I want joy and I want peace”.

A Washington DC resident of Nigerian descent, Adaku first gained attention in 2012 with her impassioned acousticYouTube covers of popular songs like Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”, Adele’s “Someone Like You” and “Heartbeat” by Nneka, garnering hundreds of thousands of views on the video-sharing platform.

Her bedroom demos and acoustic covers soon caught the attention of YouTube, who added her to their Fresh Faces Playlist in June of that year and before the year ended, she went on to release her first single “Or You Can” to critical acclaim from several leading online publications across the US and Africa.

“Ghosts” is out now on iTunes and other leading digital retailers with her debut album Plasma hitting stores in April 2014.
