Former Westlife star Kian Egan has revealed plans to release his first solo record.

The Irish singer will unleash his debut studio collection on March 17.

It will include "tracks from Kian's personal playlist" and the album will "introduce Kian's fans to some of his favourite songs, to which he brings his own personal touch."

The 33-year-old commented: "I am incredibly excited to be recording an album with Warner Music. Music is my first love, and to be able to get in the studio to record these amazing songs by such wonderful writers is such a thrill and an honour for me."

The record has been produced by Brian Rawling, who has worked with One Direction in the past.

The album meanwhile follows on from Egan's successful stint on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, which the singer won last year.
