Susie Blue reveal 'People Like Us' Ryan Vail remix ft. Bitter Rocc

Up and coming Irish rock band Susie Blue have unveiled the Ryan Vail remix of their latest single ‘People Like Us’.

A fellow native of Derry, Ryan Vail has reworked the indie-pop anthem giving it a dark, melodic electronica twist. The deep pulsing beats, trippy effects and the addition of urban vocals from Bitter Rocc transform the track into a contemporary, shoegaze-inspired masterpiece with lead singer Susan Donaghy’s atmospheric tones taking centre stage.

‘People Like Us’ is a strong statement from Susie Blue, standing against hatred within society particularly in the form of homophobia, with the accompanying video echoing these sentiments with scenes of violence and ultimately rescue and acceptance. Susan explains “We really wanted the message of the song to hit home through the video, these issues are happening now, people are still being killed and people are still scared to be who they are".

Young, passionate and fuelled by their love of writing and performing music, Susie Blue consists of Susan (lead vocals, rhythm guitar and synth) and friends, Caolan Moore (lead guitar) and Mark Doherty (bass).

They came together following Susan’s early solo releases under the name Susie Blue such as ‘Trust Me’ and ‘Guess The End’ which also dealt with issues of sexuality, love and hope.

This summer has seen Susie Blue building upon their fanbase with appearances at a number of festivals including Swell Festival, Maritime Festival, Sunflowerfest and Stendhal Festival. They have also been playing across Ireland on their first Irish headline tour this August in support of the release of the single.

Championed by Irish Times as the  ‘New Artist Of The Week’ the young group are proving to be a future force on the music scene and one of the most exciting upcoming Irish bands of 2016.
