Pop misfits Cherryade release video for 'Blah Blah'

“It's another pop banger” – The Line Of Best Fit
“Cherryade’s moxie is everything we want to be” – Nylon

London pop misfits Cherryade have released the video for their latest single ‘Blah Blah’, an in-your-face dancefloor anthem produced by Dillistone (Dua Lipa, Frances). It premiered yesterday with Dummy Mag who called them fun, flirty, fierce and not afraid to say what they think”.

Seducing you into their weird and wonderful pop playground, the duo perform inside a foil-clad space with visceral streams of molten metal dripping from the walls and bursts of bubble-gum colour. It’s playful, provocative and full of attitude.

Speaking about the video, Cherryade say: “This is our most expensive video yet - we spent nearly £50 on foil. We were inspired by early 00’s sci-fi RnB videos like Aaliyah and Janet, and we’re both going to have to work extra hard to pay back our debt. It was worth every penny though!”

‘Blah Blah’ is their bittersweet comeback to superficial stars who are distracted by material things and are all style and no substance. It has caused a stir among the blogosphere, adored by pop fans and has been added to multiple playlists across Spotify UK and US.

It follows the previous deliciously bratty pop banger ‘Get By’ and their one-off unashamed f*ck you towards politics ‘Theresa May (Bullshit)’. Since their earlier releases ‘Fractured Fairytales’, ‘The Crown’, and ‘Houdini’, they have racked up an abundance of support from the likes of CLASH, DIY Magazine, Popjustice, Nylon, Wonderland, Spotify’s New MusicFriday, Radio 1, BBC Introducing and more.

This fierce duo consists of singer and dazzling pop siren Ella and her partner-in-crime Alex. They met at school and fled to London to begin their musical journey where they started out by creating fuzzy demos on their iPhones to now working with various credible producers such as Ant Whiting (M.I.A., John Newman), Lewis Gardiner (PRIDES, KLOE), Dimitri Tikovoi (Charlie XCX, MNEK) and Shaun Canning (Atom Tree).
Expect to hear much more from this pair with new music and collaborations coming your way.
Pop’s newest troublemakers are here.” – Nylon
“Punk-edged synth pop swiftly causing a stir online.” - Clash
“Like dropping a berocca in a can of coke... a pop explosion impossible to contain.”
