At a concert in New York, fans of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were confronted by signs telling them to put away their cameraphones as a courtesy to the band.

Signs at the venue read: "PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THE SHOW THROUGH A SCREEN ON YOUR SMART DEVICE/CAMERA.

"PUT THAT S**T AWAY,” it continued, “as a courtesy to the person behind you and to Nick, Karen and Brian. MUCH LOVE AND MANY THANKS! YEAH YEAH YEAHS."

During the gig, singer Karen O allowed fans a brief photo op window before telling the crowd to “put those motherf**kers away.”

The ‘Zero’ stars are currently touring in support of their latest album ‘Mosquito’ which is due to be released on April 15.
