For Immediate Release - July 6, 2016 - Songwriter Matt Mooney aka Royal Holland continues to reconstruct a Neo-Folk stage persona recalling Superchunk's Mac McCaughan singing songs on love & post-modern existentialism from his Midwest backyard. This summer he’s recording some new & old songs live-to-tape in 1 take and he’s playing some of those songs at local shows like his upcoming performance at Southgate Revival House in Newport, KY on Friday, July, 22. Look for more shows to be announced throughout the summer at all online destinations. Royal Holland self-released the final installment; Vol. 3 Program, on an EP trilogy, and the trilogy Unfolded in January. The trilogy features Vol. 3 Program, Vol. 2 Flamingo, Vol. 1 The Maze. Listen to Unfolded on Soundcloud Chronologically the EPs fit together. The Maze asks questions of existence and meaning. Flamingo attempts to answer them. Program suggests that we we’re stuck in our bodies and these conditions because our selves are stuck in them, but that restriction can be very freeing if we realize it and capitalize on that truth.
