BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT STARLET GABZ TO BRING OUT DEBUT SINGLE

DUE TO EXCEPTIONAL DEMAND, ‘LIGHTERS (THE ONE)’ TO BE RELEASED ON JUNE 30th ON SONY MUSIC

She wowed the nation with her singing, her piano-playing and, of course, her trademark onesies, now Gabz Gardiner is to release Lighters (The One), her self-penned anthem that thrilled more than 11 million TV viewers during Britain’s Got Talent 2013.

Schoolgirl Gabz, aged just 14, recorded the song in a London studio last week. It was produced by Graham Stack (Kylie Minogue, JLS, Girls Aloud). 

After her first audition on Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell said of the teenager: ‘I think we’re looking at a future pop star.’

And following her semi-final appearance, Simon said of Lighters (The One): ‘I think the song’s a hit.’

The youngster eventually finished an outstanding seventh in the competition.

Gabz said: “I'm really excited about my single being released, I'm so happy, it's a dream come true!”

Tuesday 18th June:

Music is a common language that has the power to unite communities and bring people from all backgrounds together. Today, some of the biggest names in music announce they are joining forces to stage Unity – A Concert for Stephen Lawrence at the O2 Arena this autumn.

The concert marks the 20th anniversary of Stephen Lawrence’s murder. Through the work of Stephen’s mother, Doreen Lawrence and the Stephen Lawrence Trust, Britain is changing but there is still much more to be done. The SL20 campaign, set up by the Trust to mark this important anniversary, aims to highlight Stephen’s legacy and the vital work undertaken by the charity in his name. This concert will play a pivotal role in the SL20 initiative.

Doreen Lawrence OBE, Founder of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust said:  “Our aim is to build hope for the future. Justice for Stephen is about all of us, every one of us, in society having justice. I want young people to feel inspired, be confident and have hope in their own future. There have been a further 106 racist murders since Stephen was killed 20 years ago and there are still too many young people who do not have a sense of hope.  We work every day to empower youth and we’re so proud that the music industry is joining us in reaching out to change the lives of young people.”

This event sees UK artists and the music industry working together to create a one-off concert and raise awareness and money for the Stephen Lawrence Trust, further providing opportunities for those disadvantaged by their colour, their postcode, their ethnicity or their poverty – across the UK. All the artists will perform tracks specially chosen for their social message.

Unity – A Concert for Stephen Lawrence is supported by Mayor of London Boris Johnson as well as Lewisham and Greenwich Council.

JUNE 21, 2013 - LONDON & NEW YORK - Grammy Award®-winning producer and DJ, Afrojack, is thanking fans by releasing a special EP titled “It’s a Matter Of…” officially available June 21, 2013. The underground EP is a treat for his longstanding Electronic Dance Music fanatics and will feature four brand new, hard-hitting instrumental tracks.

The band also kicked off their “Be A Mowgli” campaign (www.beamowgli.com) which encourages fans to promote positive change through their manifesto of loving everyone and random acts of kindness.  Users can submit photos and other multimedia showcasing what it means to “Be A Mowgli” to them and even call a number that the band is answering to talk about positivity and love.

The Mowgli’s are into a busy spring and summer schedule of major festival dates across the U.S. which has already taken in Edgefest in Dallas, Revelry in Madison, WI and Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN.  A dozen more festival dates include Summerfest (June 29th), Lollapalooza (August 4th) and Bumbershoot (September 1st).  These will be combined with headlining dates through May, June and July.  Tour dates have also been set for October with Walk The Moon.

The Mowgli’s comprise five childhood friends from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, augmented by 3 mid-western transplants: Michael Vincze (guitar, vocals), David Applebaum (keys), Spencer Trent (percussion), Josh Hogan (guitar, vocals), Andy Warren (drums), Katie Jayne Earl (vocals), Colin Dieden (guitar, vocals) and Matt Di Panni (bass).  Part ‘60s Laurel Canyon, part ‘70s Venice Beach, and part ‘10s Silverlake, the band and their harmonies are held together by a message of universal love, peace and the belief that the highest form of consciousness is achieved by togetherness and unity.  Inspired by the grind of Los Angeles, the magnetism of San Francisco, and the serenity of the Big Sur Coast, the songs of The Mowgli’s can be described as a joyous revival of rock and roll, a twisting indie-folk dance and a heartfelt protest ballad.  They have been known to slide from indie pop to country and a host of genres in between, evoking modern artists such as Fun., Grouplove, and Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, while their roots are firmly planted in the music of Neil Young, the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and Fleetwood Mac.

18th August see’s the release of ‘Doing OK feat. Jacob Banks’ the second single from Wretch 32’s forthcoming third studio album. The Grammy-nominated, multiplatinum alternative rock band Papa Roach will be heading back to Europe in support of their latest album The Connection (Eleven Seven Music).  The band announced the tour just before their storming main stage appearance at Download Festival at the weekend.  This will be their first headlining tour since 2009 and kicks off in Portsmouth on December 1st, finishing at Brixton Academy on Dec 10th, bringing Middle Class Rut and Amercian Fangs along as support . After visiting the UK as part of the Taste of Chaos tour in 2010, co-headlining with Stone Sour last year, as well as Sonisphere and Download Festival appearances, one of this generation’s greatest live rock bands is now back headlining in their own right.

To celebrate the release of his debut album, Jahméne Douglas is set to perform a one-off concert at St James’s Piccadilly in London on Thursday July 18th. Members of the London Community Gospel Choir will be joining Jahméne on stage along with a five piece band, and he will be performing the majority of his album.
