Emerging from the shadows of Los Angeles, The Dark is an Rock/Industrial/Dance Metal audio sensation originating from the underground club scene.
Fronted by singer Brandon Ashley, The Dark combines electronic sensibility with the use of unconventional electronic processing and heavily distorted guitars. The Dark is format friendly encompassing true commercial value reminiscent of edgy rock/electronic bands such as Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Orgy, Julien K while being uniquely melodic & catchy.
Deriving inspiration from his hometown Turin, Italy, Brandon Ashley launched his professional career in 2006 in Brandon Ashley & The Silverbugs. They performed across Europe, Russia & Indonesia with Iron Maiden, Lordi, Mortiis & Apoptygma Berzerk, Devil Driver, Cinema Bizarre, Skid Row, Brides Of Destruction and Lords Of The New Church.
Brandon knew there was still something more waiting for him and moved to Los Angeles. In 2012 Brandon proceeded to record the EP Nightmare Factory 82, known for being the mother ship of The Dark.
The Dark instantly discovered a sound that combines rock and electronic music into a powerful and sexy formula. Brandon Ashley brings forth a mysterious and dark air to his lyrics with a fashionable and artistic flair to The Dark live show.
The Dark’s first single, Teenage Angst, includes the astounding talents of Producers Paolo
Pasquariello (Muse) and Jason Charles Miller (Godhead). Mixed by legendary producer Tim Palmer and mastered by engineer Justin Schturtz at Sterling Sound NY.
Holiday Season 2013, The Dark released A Christmas Song as a gift to their fans. The New Year was celebrated with the release of the single To Be Destroyed. This is also featured in commercial for Virgin Blak Alternative Fashion along with singer Brandon Ashley featured. (www.virginblak.com)
The Dark has been honored to perform with the “Godfather of Goth” Peter Murphy, Wednesday 13 and Orgy.
On June 3rd 2016 The Dark releases the new single ‘Bleeding Black’ along with a lyric video to launch the full length release out this coming fall/winter season.
The Dark is currently working with producer Nero Argento on their debut Album 'Live, Create, Destroy'. The band has announced Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode as a guest drummer on the record.
