Wretch 32 reflects on "crazy" Cheryl Cole relationship speculation

Wretch 32 has admitted that he wasn't prepared for the level of interest in his private life after being out with Cheryl Cole.

The pair were seen eating dinner together last year and some overeager sections of the media linked the duo romantically.

Speaking to The Sun, the UK rapper revealed his bewilderment at the level of speculation that resulted from spending time with Cole, saying:

"That was crazy. To be honest I wasn't ready for that level of exposure. It's a whole new world."

He continued: "I had to imagine what that level of interest must be like for her. That's what I took from the experience. She's a cool woman - we went for a meal and she gave me some good advice. I took a lot of it on board."

Wretch 32 to help Ed Sheeran branch out into rap and hip-hop

Wretch 32 has revealed that he is on hand to help Ed Sheeran try out more hip-hop and rap.

The 'A Team' star is most known for his acoustic singer-songwriter leanings, but he has occasionally deviated into more urban territory.

However, rapper Wretch 32 told the Daily Star that he is up for helping Sheeran if he needs some guest rap spots - as long as he gets some singing or guitar in return. He said:

"Me and Ed have been working together for years. I would help him out if he helped me out with my singing or guitar playing, we need to do a trade. He loves his rap for sure, you never know where he's going to go because he appeared on Labrinth's EP rapping with me and Devlin."

Wretch continued: "He loves all that, I'd love to hear him do more. The great thing about working together now is that people are finally paying attention as we're getting bigger."

Wretch 32: 'Money and fame mean nothing unless you're inspiring people'

'Unorthodox' hitmaker Wretch 32 has admitted that he would continue his career in the music industry even if it didn't pay well because the feeling he gets from writing a song that touches another person is priceless.

Speaking to Blunt Talking about his success, the star explained that fame and success isn't as important as being told that one of his lyrics "means so much" to a stranger and that's what motivates him to keep going:

"When people are like, 'I can't believe he just said that', or 'that was sick'. Or 'that lyric touched me'. 'That means so much to me because I'm going through the same thing', stuff like that. It shows that someone can be with you on a journey through your whole life," he added.

Wretch 32 also explained that sometimes he collaborates with smaller 'up and coming' artists out of the love and passion for music because he goes into a project with the knowledge that they won't be able to pay the usual high fee for his creative input:

"They're on the come up and I know they don’t have that 10k or 15k to spend on a verse so that is strictly out of the love. Does everybody understand that? I don’t know.”

Wretch 32 wants to mentor up and coming music stars

'Unorthodox' hitmaker Wretch 32 believes his own journey in the music industry could help inspire and guide some of the new names on the scene.

Speaking to Britain's The Sun newspaper, he explained that after slogging away for 10 years trying to get his material out there, he understands the struggle to cross over into the mainstream and thinks he could help expose up and coming artists with his own experience:

"You know I've really had a long haul, it's been like 10 years for me. I was always one of them artists that people would call a rapper's rapper - like the rapper's will get you but people that don't technically listen to the deepness won't get you."

"So I kinda see in the new wave of talent and I feel like as a mentor I could help them channel it. I've come across this amazing guy called George The Poet. And he's absolutely phenomenal."

Referring specifically to his lyrical ability, Wretch 32 added that it's important for him to have people take notice of what he's rapping about:

"I definitely want to be someone that people look to and go 'you know I really appreciate something you said here'. When people stop me and say that, it really means something to me. So you know I really want to stand for that, take each day as it comes, make my music and help whoever I can help along the way."

'Traktor' hitmaker Wretch 32 has revealed that he won't be throwing his "knickers" at Welsh crooner Tom Jones when he performs with him in London later tonight (September 27) because he doesn't wear any.

Speaking to Yahoo! OMG, he admitted that he doesn't fancy taking off his boxers to throw at the legend because Jones probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture:

"I won't be throwing my knickers, mainly because I wear boxers. No boxer throwing! He would probably punch me — I don't know anyone that doesn't like 'What's Up Pussycat'."

He also opened up about his participation in Cheryl Cole's forthcoming headlining tour, which kicks off next week, and explained that he's looking forward to helping "surprise the fans" by joining her for live renditions of her album track, 'Screw You':

"I'll be popping up with Cheryl Cole on tour, it's always good to surprise the fans! We'll be performing the track Screw You together, we haven't started rehearsing yet but there is loads of time."

Wretch 32 has revealed that he will be involved in Cheryl Cole's upcoming arena tour.

The Girls Aloud star is taking her solo show for a run of UK and Ireland dates in October.

Tabloid reports recently suggested that rapper Wretch 32, who collaborated with Cole on her 2012 track 'Screw You', would provide support on the jaunt.

Speaking to Capital FM, Wretch said that he will be "popping out" at some of the shows - but didn't go as far to as saying that he's the tour's support act. The rapper said:

"Yeah I think I'm popping out on some dates. That should be quite cool. I mean, yeah, I'm interested to do some of that. It's going to be live man, I know she goes in with her show so I can't wait to pop through the floor or come in through the sky!"

He concluded: "I don't know how I'm going to make an entrance yet, but I like making an entrance!"
