Eminem publisher sues Facebook over song use

Eminem's publisher has filed a lawsuit against Facebook over claims they used one of his songs in an advert without permission.

The Detroit Free Press reports that a 12-page complaint has been issued against the social networking company for their use of the 2000 track 'Under The Influence'.

Eight Mile Style claim that Facebook didn't ask for permission to use the song on the advert, which was broadcast during a Mark Zuckerberg webchat on April 4.

The lawsuit says that a new version of the advert featuring different music was uploaded online days after in order to replace the original clip - "an admission that Facebook knew it had infringed", the publishers say.

As previously reported, Eminem was recently pictured in the studio alongside fellow rappers Royce Da 5'9" and Big Sean.

His last album meanwhile came in the shape of 2010's 'Recovery'.

Example ties the knot

British rapper Example tied the knot in Australia today (May 18).

The 30-year-old star wed TV presenter Erin McNaught in her home country and revealed his pre-wedding plans ahead of the big day.

Taking to Twitter he wrote: ''It's 7.30am. Just going for a little 6 mile jog. Ceremony starts in 6 hours. Not sure if this is normal protocol for your wedding day... ? (sic)''

Example - real name Elliot John Gleave - also thanked fans for their well wishes yesterday, sharing: "Thanks for all your lovely wedding wishes guys. The big day is tomorrow. By 3pm Aussie time @Erin_McNaught will be Mrs Gleave (sic)."

The pair met in 2011 after Erin interview the star for MTV Australia.

He previously gushed about his new wife: ''It was love at first sight and when Erin agreed to go out with me I decided to get a ring on her finger ASAP. We'd decided where and when we were getting married before I'd even proposed, and a month later I eventually got round to it.''

Example also revealed the couple's wedding plans ahead of the ceremony, adding:''It's going to be a small affair over there [in Australia]. We'll have 50 people or so. My band will be there, but other than that it's mainly family.

''We'll have a massive smash-up when we are back next summer for our UK mates. I don't think I'll even wear a tie at the bash in Oz. It's going to be really relaxed. Nothing fancy.''

McFly's Harry Judd pulls out of charity assault course challenge

McFly drummer Harry Judd withdrew from a charity assault course challenge this weekend because of his touring schedule.

The British star was due to take part in a 12 mile assault course called the Tough Muddler on Sunday (May 5), but he postponed his appearance.

McFly are currently on a long UK tour and it seems the event would have pushed Judd too far. He tweeted:

"Unfortunately I've had to pull out of the Tough Mudder today. In hindsight doing a 12 mile assault course with 25 military obstacles in the middle of a tour wasn't the best idea. BUT I will be doing the Tough Mudder at a later date this year."

Judd previously took part in the London Marathon for the first leg of the physical charity double header.

He developed an irregular heartbeat during training for the marathon due to excessive exercise, but the drummer still managed to complete the run.

Kyrie London's Rooftop's Hit's VEVO Top Video Chart @ #3 Today May 4th 2013

Kyrie London Rooftop Video Hit #3 VEVO Today 4th May 2013

http://www.vevo.com/videos/topvideos#genre=pop&order=mostviewedtoday

It's the digital age upon us and collaborations are faster becoming the highway to success. With album sales down and physical sales almost obsolete, the hottest topics are at the moment all edited down to 3 minutes for which it seems to be the single sale of the century. 40% growth in single sales from last year, and almost back to the glory days of the huge sales of the 90s, but delivered courtesy of megabytes. VEVO & Youtube's jumping on board, and Billboard together with Soundscan are reporting more single sales than we have time to listen to. They're even now counting youtube views as part of the algorithm that measures chart success. Newcomer Kyrie London is at the beginning of a digital era. Her debut single "Rooftops" is due for release June 2nd, and surprisingly features UK Garage Innovator and Daft Punk Collaborator Todd Edwards. Edwards is currently celebrating the success of the first single off Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, entitled "Get Lucky" featuring the rhythmic styling of Chic founder Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes.

The first cut from the album sounds like it just came out of Studio 54. Could this be the reincarnation of disco? Surprisingly soul has never left us in the words of Pharrell but just got lost along the way. The single debuted at #1 in 10 countries on itunes. Kyrie London is also hoping over the next couple weeks that she too will get lucky!

Kyrie's debut single "Rooftops" was remixed by Todd the God Edwards who put his unique spin on the record and also appeared alongside screen actor Robbie Gee for this 5 and a half minute short cinematic video, directed by Phil Hawkins. You can see the two walking down side by side with Kyrie as her enforcers. The two then proceed to part the crowd and bring her to the footsteps of a large fighting arena. Robbie Gee, movie star and well-loved UK TV actor has certainly not lost his charm. With his soft spoken voice and gangster-like appearance, he oozes substance and delivers the impacting lines, "This is your break. This is your time," like only Robbie Gee could. Compelling? Yes. Out of the ordinary? Definitely. But somehow it manages to keep you there like mother's sticky treacle pudding. I also found myself feeling quite nostalgic on the journey through this classic 80s feel good movie approach. "It's going down" in the gritty urban setting which suddenly springs to life like an episode of Fame or like one of my all-time favorites Flash Dance. Fame Costs, and here's where you start paying in sweat. Very reminiscent of Eminem's 8 Mile. While Sancola Music anticipates the forthcoming album release of their first US artist, Kyrie's melodies are certainly at the forefront, interwoven into a tapestry of electronic sounds and thudding kick drums, but somehow maintaining a human connection. Definitely a breath of fresh air in the right direction, due west if I'm correct in thinking, according to the robots.

Eminem is apparently putting his new movie project on hold so that he can return his focus to music.

The rap heavyweight, who launched his film career back in 2002 with the fantastic '8 Mile', was reportedly shooting a boxing movie for the big screen called 'Southpaw' in Michigan, but his spokesman Dennis Dennehy told the Detroit Free Press that working on new material in the studio is currently his priority:

"He's focusing on his music right now, so while he's doing that, while he's in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being..."

"What I'm told is when the film does get made, the plan is that the bulk of it will be shot in Michigan. That was always the understanding."

Eminem talks to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe about feeling like 'Bugs Bunny'

Eminem has said that he felt "like Bugs Bunny" during his stint in rehab, he has revealed.

The rapper, whose comeback album 'Relapse' was released yesterday (May 18), has been talking openly about the prescription pill addiction that forced his hiatus from music.

And in an in interview with Zane Lowe due to be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 tonight , he has spoken about how during his stint in rehab his fame made him feel like the iconic cartoon rabbit.

"When I got out I knew I needed to pull back from the spotlight because of the fame thing," he said. "I was like Bugs Bunny in rehab, Bugs Bunny walking in the room.

"The second you walk in the room… there were some people who were as supportive as they could be, some people that were like 'I don't look at you as Eminem, I'm seeing you as Marshall'."

Meanwhile, the rapper has revealed that he recently filmed a cameo in the new Judd Apatow movie 'Funny People'.

Of his appearance in the 'Knocked Up' director's next project, he told Vibe: "I just did a cameo a few months go with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen in a Judd Apatow-produced film. It's called 'Funny People'. I kind of do a cameo in that which was fun by the way. And '8 Mile' (2002 movie in which the rapper starred) was not a fun movie to shoot."
