Jamie Cullum has today announced a special release, his first musical output in three years, coinciding with an announcement that he has signed to Island Records. 

New track ‘Love For $ale’, a cover of Cole Porter’s classic and produced by Dan The Automator (DJ Shadow, Gorillaz), featuring British rapper Roots Manuva is available to download now via the website www.jamiecullum.com.

On the track:

“Roots Manuva is an institution. He's incredibly musical and between making his own amazing albums he has collaborated with so many varied and brilliant artists. After I ripped off his bassline, I had the audacity to ask him if he wanted to write a verse for the track. Luckily he was up for it. He has a sense of timing and drama that works so well with a live band in this situation, a commanding voice and a presence that could fit alongside Cole Porter. How many people can do that?”

Alongside the track, after seeing the recent work they had done for Rankin and Kanye West, Jamie commissioned the young and enigmatic directors Charlie & Joe to create a short film to accompany the song. The short features Larry Lamb of EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey fame as a heart salesman and can be viewed HERE. 

“It's so fun for me to be part of something a lot more cinematic for the Love for $ale video’ says Jamie ‘it's not something I've had the chance to do yet in all these years making videos. I'm very proud for it to represent this song which in itself is a huge clash of different influences.” 

With over 10 million record sales under his belt Jamie joins an incredible roster from past and present over at Island Records including Mumford & Sons, Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams, Florence And The Machine and Jessie J.

Since the release of his last album, as well as performing to millions of people around the globe on his critically acclaimed sold out tours, Jamie has been working on a variety of unique projects that have seen him collaborate with artists including Stevie Wonder, Rizzle Kicks, ?uestlove and The Roots, write the Golden Globe nominated song ‘Gran Torino’ for the Clint Eastwood film of the same name and perform at events such as the FIFA Ballon d’Or in Zurich in front of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and for Robert De Niro at his party at the recent Cannes Film Festival.

More information on Jamie’s fifth studio album will be announced in the coming weeks.

Featuring Cyrus pre-cropped and bleached hair, the performance was part of the 'Backyard Sessions' with her band, Jamie Arentzen (guitar) and Jaco Curaco (guitar). The film was created by Kevin and Rebecca Joelso. The sound engineer was Paul Hager.

Cyrus has covered other songs in the past including Gorillaz's 'On Melancholy Hill' as well as tracks by Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, Poison and Joan Jett.

Cyrus is currently recording her fourth studio album with Pharrell Williams.

Earlier this week Cyrus tweeted a festive photo of her driving with a blow-up doll as a passenger (see below). She tweeted alongside the shot: "Does this count for the carpool lane? Such a nice Xmas gift.'

Converse Gigs @ 100 Club is proud to announce that The Toddla T Sound will take over the legendary club on Wednesday 5th December.

A widely respected DJ and producer, Tom Bell (AKA Toddla T) has officially released his brand new concept bridging the gap between his infamous DJ sets and a full out live show. Already road tested at various European festivals the response has been resounding!

The Toddla T Sound features both elements of live performance and DJing with live vocalists, including Shola Ama, Serocee and MC DRS. For the first time, all material used in the set will come from the man himself, drawing upon his two albums to date, Skanky Skanky and Watch Me Dance and a heap of custom edits and remixes especially for the project.  The show will also be augmented with the bespoke visuals of Sheffield designers, Peter and Paul.  Add all these elements together and you have something really special on your hands.

Support on the night comes from UK rising talent, Roses Gabor.  Best known for lending her vocal talent to the likes of Gorillaz and SBTRKT; Roses is preparing for the release of her debut solo single ‘Stars’ which has been lighting up the air waves over recent weeks.

‘Remember Me’  feat. Jessie J out December 2nd 

What do Maxwell, Angie Stone, Jill Scott and Pharrell share in common? They all love Daley. This adoration for a new and relatively unknown 22-year-old blue-eyed boy from Manchester from some of the most respected voices in neo-soul speaks for itself; Daley is THE one to watch. Also there aren’t many new artists releasing their debut single in the UK alongside two US Soul Train Award Nominations (The Centric and Best Intl Performance Awards) and a sell-out performance at S.O.B’s in New York. Daley’s long-awaited debut single, ‘Remember Me’ featuring fellow Brit Jessie J will be released on December 2nd through Levels/Polydor Records/Universal Republic Records, a track which has already gained early spins from BBC Radio 1 as well as being added straight to Choice FM, KISS FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra’s playlists. The single even trended at #2 on UK Twitter during it’s first ever radio play.

‘Remember Me’ is a bass station stomp smash featuring two of the UK’s most exciting new vocal talents in Daley and Jessie J. The track samples Blue Boy‘s 90s dance track of the same name (itself a sample work of Marlena Shaw‘s “Woman of the Ghetto”) and has already gained 80k views on YouTube - click here to listen. The track was produced by The White N3rd and Ballistiq, the production team behind some of Delilah’s best known tracks and Paul Heard (Wretch 32, ‘Don’t Go’).

Daley released his first solo material last year. What was meant to be a low key EP called 'Those Who Wait' that he created himself and tweeted out to his fans, has now achieved over 100,000 downloads and was immediately picked up by all the big blogs. His videos have already created quite a stir on both sides of the pond, clocking up over six million hits on YouTube;  A mighty feat for an established artist, let alone a new one!

It doesn’t stop there either. Daley’s also featured on some big songs over the last year or two including: ‘Long Way Home’ from Wretch 32's Top 5 debut album, ‘Alone Together’ with ex-Floetry singer Marsha Ambrosius (for which they’re nominated for a Soul Train Award and is currently in the Top 15 of the Urban/AC) and ‘Doncamatic’ the Gorillaz track which he co-wrote with Damon Albarn. 

Daley abandoned the idea of working a nine to five shortly after leaving school, investing every penny he had into his music. He began by singing in bars, on stage and to anyone and everyone that would listen. He quickly attracted the attention of DJs Mistajam and Ras Kwame and soon after that created enough momentum through social media and word of mouth to make him one of the most talked about arrivals to the UK and US underground neo-soul scene.  

Daley recently supported Maverick Sabre on his UK tour and has previously supported Jill Scott, Jessie J and Emeli Sande on their UK tours.
