'The Voice' contestant Tyler James: 'Robbie Williams's cockiness comes from insecurity'

Singer Tyler James, who was a contestant on a previous series of 'The Voice', has opened up about his stage persona and revealed that he will never be 'cocky' like Robbie Williams.

The 31-year-old explained that the 'Angels' hitmaker's self-assured attitude must stem from his own insecurities and he hopes to never become that way because he doesn't think it would 'feel good':

"I'm never going to be like Robbie Williams, who's really cocky. But somewhere in his head he's probably the most insecure person in the world. If cockiness comes from a genuine place, then how good is it to feel like that?"

"That will never be me. But I don't know... give me a year and I might be the cockiest bloke in the world!"

James added that despite still being on the outside of the star circle, he doesn't get phased by celebrities as he was good friends with the late Amy Winehouse so is used to attention:

"I am a little shy but I'm not starstruck - my best friend was one of the biggest superstars in the world. I met Mariah Carey years ago at a Capital Radio thing and I stayed silent and acted like a total kn*b! I grew up in Canning Town, singing 'Hero' aged five."

Robbie Williams calls for new rebellious music movement

Solo star Robbie Williams has stated that Britain needs a new music movement that will appeal to an angry public.

The pop singer’s comments reveal his attitude towards the British music scene and how acts are failing to reflect the current social climate.

Reminiscing about the ‘90s Williams said: “There has not been that same spirit ever since, I don’t think.”

The ex-Take That band member also made reference to music genres of decades gone by and political music acts he admires: “Once, you’d go from mod to new romantic to punk, and then rave and then guitar, and then... nothing.”

He questioned, “Where are the Billy Bragg’s and The Clashes?”

The ‘Angels’ soloist believes that the present political environment is ripe for inspiring new defiant artists: “I think there is plenty to rebel against right now, especially with what is happening with the world, with how people are being treated by governments and the recession. Normally this is the time of great upheaval and great voices that rise and say, ‘No we are not f***ing having this’.”

However, Williams was aware that his comments may be viewed as hypocritical as he joked: “Not that I’m doing anything about it, I’m in a mansion in Los Angeles. What do I know?”

Robbie Williams was recently confirmed as having joined the line-up at the Capital FM Summertime Ball. The star-studded event takes place on June 9.

‘LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS’, the new album from

THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS, is released May 20th on Polydor Records.

Written and recorded around the world from Europe, to India, to the band’s studio in California,

‘LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS’ was produced by Jared Leto with previous collaborator Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel) co-producing four of the twelve tracks. Jared says that “this is more than an evolution, it’s a brand new beginning. Creatively, we've gone to an entirely new place, which is exciting, unexpected, and incredibly inspiring.”

In partnership with NASA, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS launched the first single from the new album into space. Literally. The first copy of

‘Up In The Air’ was recently carried aboard the SpaceX cargo mission to the space station. The single had its groundbreaking premiere from the astronauts in orbit 230 miles above Earth and Thirty Seconds To Mars stood by at Mission Control Houston while the track was played. They did a Q&A with Tom Marshburn, one of the astronauts aboard the space station, with fans contributing questions for the chat.

‘Up In The Air’ is available to download now from all digital retailers worldwide. The iTunes pre-order for ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’ is available to pre-order iTunes, with fans receiving an instant download of ‘Up In The Air.’

The album cover for ‘LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS’ was revealed today on the band’s social networks. It features ‘Isonicotinic Acid Ethyl Ester’ (2010 - 2011) from internationally renowned artist Damien Hirst’s Spot Paintings series.

A second Hirst work, which is from the Colour Charts series, will appear on the CD itself. Love Lust Faith + Dreams is the band’s fourth studio record. It follows their acclaimed LP ‘This Is War’, which they toured fortwo years, selling out arenas around the globe and playing over 311 shows in nearly 60 countries on six continents to three million people – breaking the Guinness World Record® for the longest ever concert tour by a rock band.

THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS – comprising Jared Leto and Shannon Leto as well as Tomo Milicevic – have sold over 5 million albums worldwide and the band’s videos have more than 300 million views on YouTube. The group have received numerous awards, including a dozen MTV awards worldwide, a Billboard Music award and honours from NME, Kerrang! and Fuse.

Artifact, a documentary about the band’s battle with their record label, won the People’s Choice documentary award at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards and it was also an official selection of the 2013 SXSW film festival.

Robbie Williams beats Olly Murs' press-up record on stage

Robbie Williams has trumped Olly Murs by performing more press-ups than him on stage.

Murs recently managed to do 41 repetitions at London's Roundhouse for his iTunes Festival concert in early September.

The Xtra Factor host was trying to gazump Usher, who had done 40 press-ups the night before at the same venue.

Robbie Williams made his live comeback last night (September 11) at the Leeds Academy and the singer, who is friends with Murs, tried his luck at the press-up game. The Take That man, however, managed to power through 50 repetitions without breaking sweat.

Williams is set to play in Glasgow tonight (September 12) as his intimate comeback tour continues.

As previously reported, the 'Angels' singer has released the video for his new single 'Candy', which was co-written with Gary Barlow. The song comes off his new album 'Take The Crown', which is scheduled for a November 5 release.

Robbie Williams has revealed that his forthcoming new album is made to be heard in stadiums and arenas.

The singer is releasing his ninth studio album 'Take The Crown' on November 5 and it seems Williams is gunning for something big with the record.

The Take That man is no stranger to large venues, with his three-night stint at Knebworth in 2003 attracting an overall crowd of 375,000.

Speaking to Capital FM, Williams said that 'Take The Crown' will fit right in at large venues such as stadiums. When asked what sound he was going for on the record, the 'Candy' man said:

"We are at big stadium sounding album. This is going to fit right in at huge areas with thousands of people staring at me."

He continued: "And then I'm going to sing it at them and they're going to smile and hold their phones up and wave and it's going to be euphoric and it's going to be big."

"I've written a couple of songs with Gaz [for the new album] but he's not singing on the album. I love working with Gaz. I'd love to do an album with him - me and him - but that wouldn't go down well with the boys, I don't think."

Williams continued: "I'd love to do that in between Take That being Take That and I'd love to do something with Gaz at some point. And being Take That again at some point too."

The singer has revealed news of his ninth studio album 'Take The Crown', which is due for release on November 5.

Williams said that he wanted to create a "massive" solo album following his recent reunion with Take That. He said:

"After the Take That reunion - a busman's holiday, a break from my career which re-energised me in many, many ways - I wanted to come back with a massive solo album. My main priority was to write what I consider, and hopefully what the world would consider, to be hits. I'm very excited".

The 'Angels' singer meanwhile commented on the album track 'Candy', which was written with Gary Barlow. He added:

"[It's] about a girl who thinks she's great. And she might be, but she's a bit nefarious with her ways. Some songs take an age to write and some songs just fall out of your mouth completely formed, and you don't have to think about it. I don't know why that fell out of my mouth and out of my brain at that particular time - it just did".

Pressparty talks to Angels & Airwaves and Blink-182 star Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge isn't just a member of hugely successful punks Blink-182 - he's also the main man behind grand rockers Angels & Airwaves. We caught up with DeLonge to find out more as they prepare for appearances at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals in August.

Do you think Angels & Airwaves are more of a live band or are you better heard on record?

I think it has definitely always been a pretty amazing live thing, with the connection that we have with our audience. I think this year we have really solidified what we are known for live and how to present our band in a really cool and interesting way. It's taken us a little bit of time, like any band, but I think we're really doing something kind of special at this point.

It seems like visuals and image is quite a big part of the band?

Absolutely. Many years ago we decided that we would always want to accompany all of our music with something visual, and our live show is no different. We really take a lot of time on having a lighting show that is very intricate.

What would you say to people who think that emphasis on visuals detracts from the music?

If you were to notice at a show the amount of lighting we bring and the intricate programming to every piece of the show...and we don't take any breaks either during a show, so it is one continuous arc. And very theatrical. It's got a very cinematic feel and the band is really into that type of environment on stage.

For someone who hasn't really heard much of the band, how would you describe Angels & Airwaves?

I think musically first and foremost we'd be described as an atmospheric rock band, but I think that a lot of what we're known for is being an art project. We have spent a lot of time doing different types of media that go along with our music. We've put out a feature film, and we're working on two more at the moment, and there are a lot of other things - animations, television shows. I think that if someone is wondering exactly what Angels & Airwaves is then it's better described as an art project. And I think that's what gives us something a little bit more interesting than all the other bands out there.

I'm guessing you enjoy more creative control in Angels & Airwaves than your other band, Blink-182?

I think Angels & Airwaves is a total expression of me and myself - I really get to be myself. I get to try out new things and really put myself out there, I guess emotionally and artistically, and that's what brings me a lot of satisfaction.

Do you think Blink-182 represents the person that you are just now?

I think that everybody has a lot of different sides to them, and I definitely think that shows a piece of me when I was younger, for sure. It's always fun to have that. I think that one of ways that you stay happy is to have a little bit of eternal youth in your system.

Do you get annoyed at people who always just associate Blink-182 with immature jokes?

Well, that's what we did. That's what we are known for. That's how we made our career, by being fun and having fun.

So would you say you're perhaps the happiest you've been in a long while because you've got both bands you can tap in to at the moment?

Absolutely. I feel enormously satisfied artistically, and it's a big deal to be a musician in a band and feel that way. Not many people have that chance.

Which band do you think comes more naturally to you?

They both have their moments. Naturally I think if people hear the last Blink record, they'll hear a lot of who I am now, which I think is representative of Angels & Airwaves. It's kind of how I write music these days.

Personally, how long do you think you'll keep on playing music?

I'll do it for my entire life, absolutely. I definitely think I'll be doing this in my grave. Just don't get buried next to me.

I can't really imagine you doing Blink-182 when you're 80 years old though...

It would be weird saying d*ck jokes when we're 80, but we'll see.

Any new albums planned for Angels & Airwaves?

This year we're releasing the score from our movie. We're also releasing a remix record, which will be a large group of songs we've remixed ourselves along with some other people, towards the end of the year. And we'll be recording a live album and live DVD this year for release next year.

You've got the Reading and Leeds festivals too. I'd never really associate Angels & Airwaves with festivals...

We're not really made for festivals, but it's an incredible festival so we're very happy to be part of it.

Do you think you have the kind of music that could win over a festival crowd of people unfamiliar with your music?

I hope so. It's all about having something that's a little bit different than everyone else. At a festival you don't really have much control. It's more about being on the flyer a lot of times than about actually performing, just for people to know that you're part of something big.

So there's a very bright future for Angels & Airwaves?

Oh, yeah. World domination. We're not stopping until this becomes one of the biggest projects on the globe.

Olly Murs has revealed he would love to work with Michael Buble.

The 28-year-old, who has previously performed with the likes of Robbie Williams and Rizzle Kicks, told Celebuzz that the Canadian crooner would be his ideal choice of singing partner:

“I’m a huge fan of Michael Buble. I’ve met him a few times and he’s a really nice guy. Someone that I can have a laugh with and perform with would be fun. I think he would be the kind of guy I’d like to work with, definitely.”

The ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ star, who will join One Direction on their US tour later this month, also refused to rule out a possible future collaboration with the X-Factor boyband:

“I’m managed by the same company as One Direction, we’re on the same label with SONY so you never know. It could become something in the future, but we’ll see. You never know.”

Robbie Williams gives the fingers to the paparazzi with topless photo

Robbie Williams has dispelled any rumours of weight gain by posting a topless photo of himself on his website.

The singer was reportedly victim of paparazzis as he went for lunch at the weekend, with some photos said to be less than flattering on Williams' physique.

However, the singer took to the blog on his official website to post a photo of his lean torso - with two middle fingers aloft too - in a post entitled 'Dear Paparazzi...'.

The post said: "Dear paparazzi (that ambushed our lunch at the weekend) - Thank you for your internationally syndicated horrid picture of me (the one you put up of me leaving Taverna Tony's…..) just to 'weigh' it up here''s me at home the next day…..with much love and respect."
