The rumour started recently when the media reported that the boyband man and the 'Don't Judge Me' singer met up in Hollywood.

Speaking to ITV's Daybreak, Merrygold confirmed that they were indeed in close proximity, but it was by chance. He said:

"That has been chucked around a little bit but literally we were in the same place when I was over in the States and obviously people started to talk and it was just like, well..."

Speaking of his plans when JLS hang up their boots in December, Merrygold added: "I'm just going to take some time, the options are open which is nice. It's always good I suppose to be in this position of looking on the outside in and just seeing exactly what the path is I'm going to take."

JLS meanwhile will embark on a UK and Ireland tour in the winter before splitting.

The British boyband are often regarded as heartthrobs and it seems they would be willing to go to some length to indulge in some lady action on tour.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Aston Merrygold said that he and bandmate Oritsé Williams almost leapt out of a hotel window after being denied access to groupies by minders. He said:

"Our security guys wanted us to go to bed and they told the girls to get into their car. We were trying to jump out of my bedroom window into their car."

Merryold continue: "Our security came out and said, 'What the hell are you doing?'. Oritsé was telling me to jump. It was mad."

As previously reported, JLS have confirmed that they will split later this year after they embark on a greatest hits tour in December.

The boyband announced their shock split yesterday, but Merrygold revealed to The Sun newspaper that when he told his mum that he needed to share a secret with her she thought he had got someone pregnant:

"The first person I told about our plan to call it a day was my mum. First it was just a text saying, 'I've got some news'."

"She replied in seconds with, 'Who is pregnant?' So I called her and told her not to worry, and that me and the boys were going our separate ways. She is hard to shock but she was obviously upset. The whole experience was lived by all our families as much as us."

His bandmate Marvin Humes confessed that the first person he told was his pregnant wife, Rochelle Humes, adding: "Rochelle was the first person I spoke to about where it was all heading. It was something we discussed for a while and she was definitely the first person I confided in."

"She's in the same job as me, so understands exactly what it's like to be a part of it. She knows what I am going through. I can't lie, I have been emotional about it."

As previously reported, the former X Factor stars announced yesterday that they would be calling it a day later this year.

They will release a greatest hits album and a new single before heading out on a farewell UK tour in December.

Speaking to The Sun, Marvin Humes said that alongside becoming a father, he would like to branch out into TV and continue his radio work. He said: "I've always dreamed of having my own radio show. I'm not just a presenter on a station - I'm actually mixing as well. I've got ambition the way Guetta has done it, where he’s the producer. He's the puppet-master pulling the strings, making it all happen. Then on the flip side, on the TV stuff I've always loved the idea of TV presenting. The Daybreak stuff has kicked off - who knows what else will come through"

Aston Merrygold, who is tipped to go solo, said that he isn't sure of his plans at the moment, but he might try auditioning for TV roles. Oritse Williams meanwhile is set to focus on his company, O Street Entertainment.

JB Gill, however, looks set to continue down the road of agriculture, with the singer recently snapping up a deer farm in Scotland.

The Spanish-born singer recently revealed to The Sun that she had an eight-month relationship with the boyband star following their appearance on the 2008 series.

However, the 30-year-old took to Twitter today to slam the newspaper for suggesting that the pair were now back together:

"How can words be twisted in such a way! U can say that u want to catch up with someone over dinner and all of the sudden u r dating! WOW!!!!"

Lorenzo, who releases her debut single, 'The Night,' on June 15, had previously told The Sun:

"We're going out to dinner this week and he's been texting me telling me I look sexy.

"I'll always love Oritsé - he's the kindest, sweetest man I've ever met."

The singer made the claim in an interview with Capital FM, choosing the 'What About Us' ladies over the likes of Girls Aloud and Little Mix.

The bold statement comes as The Saturdays try to break America with their US reality TV series Chasing The Saturdays.

Merrygold added that the rest of the world is finally getting to see the group in action, saying:

"They are so talented. They are, in my eyes, the biggest girl band in this country and obviously – in the States and around the world – they're finally getting to see that as well."

He continued: "All of the girls are so lovely and we love them to bits and we're so so pleased for them."

The boyband have legions of fans - mainly female - and they are susceptible to outpourings of joy when they see or meet their idols.

Speaking to The Sun, Merrygold said that he struggles to know what to do when a fan is crying in front of him. The singer said:

"There has been a little bit of love from the girls from time to time, but it isn't a bad thing."

He continued: "That's all part of the fun. People do seem to get teary when they meet me. I'm not good when it comes to crying - it's a hard thing to watch."

Speaking about his judging role on reality show Got To Dance alongside colleagues Ashley Banjo and Kimberly Wyatt, Merrygold said:

"It was difficult and there were disagreements. We are all going to have our favourites and think we are right. It was tough. It took all day to decide. Luckily, we were happy with the talent we put through at the end."

However, Merrygold told the Daily Star that he isn't one to set himself resolutions - because he likes to "have fun too much". He said:

"I don't make resolutions, I never keep them! If I want to change something in my life, I'll just do it spontaneously when I'm ready."

The 'Hottest Girl In The World' star added: "If I say I'm gonna give up drinking or whatever, it won't happen. I like to go out and have fun too much."

The 'Little Things' stars have just released their second album 'Take Me Home', which has topped the charts in 32 countries, including the UK, US and Australia.

It seems the group are the pace-setters in the British boyband stakes - but it is something that JLS don't mind.

Speaking to Capital FM, Aston Merrygold praised One Direction on their talent and also their personalities. The singer said:

"It's always good to see the boys conquering the world. Literally, those boys are so humble, so down to earth and so talented. And the fact [they've had] number ones all over the place – it's the 1D revolution right now."

He added about the group's recent success: "I did manage to cop myself a couple of the songs and the album itself, so I'm very proud to be a part of that bandwagon – well done boys."

The four-piece - Marvin, Oritsé, Aston and J.B - will sing their newest single 'Hottest Girl in the World' at tonight's 17th annual event, with the heartthrobs flying in especially for the award ceremony.

Marvin took to the band's Twitter page to thank fans for their unwavering support ahead of the popular music awards gala: "Thank you to everyone who has voted for us tonight! So excited!!! Marv x.

"Vibe at the #MOBOawards is wicked! Gonna be a wicked night! Liverpool are you ready?!!! Marv x (sic)."

The boys are nominated in the Best Video category for their hit 'Do You Feel What I Feel.'

Emeli Sandé and Labrinth are also set to perform at the MOBOs which are taking place at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

Sandé and Plan B are the most nominated artists for this year's awards, receiving five nods each. While Plan B is nominated for gongs including Best Male and Best Album, Sandé has been recognised in the Best Female and Best Song categories. 

The 'Hottest Girl In The World' stars attended the glitzy premiere of the new 007 flick 'Skyfall', which is due to be released tomorrow (October 26).

Actor Daniel Craig has been earning rave reviews on his third outing as the classic spy character but at age 44, time is creeping up on him.

Speaking to Capital FM at the premiere on Tuesday (October 23), JLS's Aston Merrygold said that his bandmate Gill would be the perfect candidate to assume the Bond role once Craig moves on. When asked who would be the best 007 out of the four members, he replied: "JB! JB man."

It seemed to sit well with Gill meanwhile, who replied: "What can I say? I should be the next Bond!"

The R&B boyband, who have scored 10 Top 20 singles since finishing runner-up to Alexandra Burke on The X-Factor in 2008, told the Daily Star that they feel it’s about time for a retrospective of their career:

JB said: “Next year we’re going to be in greatest hits territory. So we’ll be working on something along those lines. The release depends on our international plans though.”

The 25-year-old, whose band release new single, 'Hottest Girl In The World,' later this month, also admitted that the hysteria which greeted them after their talent show days has now died down:

“The fans are quite civilised these days. They’re a bit older so they’ve mellowed out a bit.”

The singer told the Mirror that he has been dating the 28-year-old since the summer as his period of singledom looks to have come to an end.

His bandmate Marvin Humes got married in July and it seems that witnessing wedlock could have encouraged Merrygold to look towards settling down. He said:

"I'm dating, we've been seeing each other for a couple of months. It's all going really well – we're really happy."

It wasn't long since Merrygold was quoted by a newspaper as saying that he was looking forward to meeting up with all the single ladies at Humes' wedding.

He had been reported as proclaiming: "Everyone else will be watching the vows but I will be scanning the crowd to check for girls."
