John Cooper Clarke And I Am Kloot For Sunday Night Live In London

Punk poet John Cooper Clarke will tread the boards at London’s Palladium for his biggest show to date in the capital next year. ‘Sunday Night Live with John Cooper Clarke’ will see the figurehead of ‘punk poetry’ bring his insatiable wit to London’s legendary theatre, with guest performers joining him for this very special one-night stand on Sunday 9th June 2013.

A great contributor to popular culture, Clarke’s influence has been cited by many of the great lyricists, including Alex Turner and Plan B, with the latter inviting John personally to appear in his directorial film debut, ‘Ill Manors’. His biting, satirical and political verse delivered with punch resonated with the punk movement. The 1970s and early 80s saw him share stages with groundbreaking bands of the time including Sex Pistols, The Clash, Buzzcocks, The Fall and Elvis Costello, whilst Joy Division opened for Clarke on numerous occasions. A major record deal ensued in 1978 as well as releasing an extensive collection of his poetry and words, ‘Ten Years In An Open Necked Shirt’, which became one of the bestselling poetry books of the 1980s and has recently been reprinted due to its popularity.

The revival of the punk ethos in more recent years has seen a whole new generation of fans drawn to his work. This year during the BBC’s Punk Britannia season, John was called upon for on-air duties at 6 Music and BBC4 screened the documentary ‘Evidently … John Cooper Clarke’ as part of the proceedings.

Bill Bailey put it best when he said; “You’ve either never heard of him or you love him”, but guaranteed any newcomers to his live shows will be hanging off every one of his ferociously funny words and will be a Cooper Clarke convert after spending any amount of time in his company.

ISABEL AIMEE NEW ALBUM ‘ALIGNED’

Once in a while a truly unique artist comes along; making music that is genuinely original. Isabel Aimee is releasing her new album ‘Aligned’ at the beginning on June. This kind of talent is irrepressible. She is inspired by other empowered female artists like Gazelle Twin, Kate Bush and Björk.

Isabel started her project, 'INSPIRITION' in 2006, releasing 'Truth Telling' written with her five piece band, which enjoyed commercial success in Canada and the USA. Isabel has a high profile fan in Stevie Nicks, who has written in glowing terms about her work, saying "We should have more music like this!” Isabel's INSPIRITION project collected more than 24,000 fans worldwide and 37 radio stations currently play her music, including BBC airplay. She plays dozens of gigs every year in London and the South West, at festivals both at home and abroad."

Isabel Aimee is a force to be reckoned with. Her voice dances through otherworldly ranges like the sound of mysterious spirits, world songs and real eclectic and original mix of dance, acoustic, guitar, jazz and soothing vocal. Think Celine Dione meets Bjork.

Music is only one talent that comes underneath Isabel Aimee, her work is constantly changing and she doesn’t like to pigeon-hole herself as one particular artist. She is extremely spiritual and immerses herself into an imaginative world, teaching Drama, writing books, erotic texts, knitting, writing plays and playing instruments. During all this creativity she has completed her PHD in Architecture.

"My little granddaughter kept asking me to "turn it up" she was dancing around the whole room in delight at your music!”

Atria Books' Judith Curr Inks Deal With Interscope Records' Jimmy Iovine and Famed Photographer Raphael Mazzucco

NEW YORK, July 27, 2011 -- Judith Curr, Executive VP and Publisher of Atria Books, today announced a deal to publish a collection of stunning, provocative photos that celebrate a woman's curves by prolific fashion photographer Raphael Mazzucco. The book, entitled CULO BY MAZZUCCO, available in stores and as an e-book on November 22, is at the forefront of an emerging trend in art, fashion and pop culture in which the bottom (or culo in Italian) is the new epicenter of female sexuality, desire, and empowerment. Inspired by a film will.i.am made in Brazil and conceived and shepherded to publication by acclaimed Interscope music executive Jimmy Iovine, the $65 art book tastefully and creatively recognizes this shift in society's long-held ideals of physical perfection toward a shape that is more authentic and bold.

Well-versed in bringing women of extraordinary beauty to the forefront of mainstream popular culture, Mazzucco searched the globe for the world's most stunning women to appear in the book. The result is a 248 page collection of color photographs and art pieces showcasing a diverse group of women—some already legendary, some about to become so—who embody the spirit of culo and the start of a new era of beauty.

"Interscope Records has always been a heat-seeking missile when it comes to shifts in popular culture, whether inciting them or reacting to them swiftly. The impetus for this book is a little of both," writes Iovine in the Foreword.

"I have enjoyed every single moment I've spent in the company of these breathtaking women, of having the air sucked out of the room and feeling my heart race from the sheer joy of seeing my vision come to life," says Mazzucco.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

American Photo hailed Raphael Mazzucco as "one of the top 50 photographers in the world to watch." Renowned for his images of some of the most exceptional women in the world, his work graces billboards and magazine covers and fills coffee table books for clients as diverse as Ralph Lauren, Bergdorf Goodman, Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Guess and L'Oreal. Raphael continues to define the look of popular culture and create iconic pop culture imagery, shooting portraiture for notable actors such as Adrien Brody, Benicio Del Toro, Matt Damon, Susan Sarandon, and Rachel Weisz, as well as Marisa Miller's 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue photo sensation, in which she was 'wearing' only an iPod.

Raphael's arrival onto the art scene was met with critical acclaim during a two-year international tour of exhibitions in which his work was shown in Milan, Florence, Melbourne, Los Angeles and New York.

Jimmy Iovine, acclaimed music executive and record producer, is Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, a unit of Universal Music Group, the global music leader. Interscope, the label Iovine co-founded, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with continued commitment to its diverse and gifted artists including Eminem, Lady Gaga, Dr. Dre, U2, The Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige and No Doubt- to name just a few. Iovine also heads up Beats by Dr. Dre, the enormously successful high-performance headphone and sound transmission company he co-founded with legendary artist and fellow producer, Dr. Dre, in January of 2008. In conjunction with Interscope's deal with American Idol, Iovine joined the show as mentor to the contestants in the 2011 season. Iovine began his career in the mid-70s as first a recording engineer (John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen) and then a producer (U2, Dire Straits, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Patti Smith) before starting Interscope Records in 1990. He co-produced the hit Eminem movie "8 Mile" as well as "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" starring 50 Cent and directed by Jim Sheridanand he executive produced the critically acclaimed LeBron James documentary, "More Than A Game."
