The music mogul took to Twitter to muse about the upcoming season of The X Factor US.

After announcing the start date of audition stages and confirming details about the new panel, Cowell dished out advice to people wanting to audition for the show.

He said: "We start x factor auditions in charleston on Tuesday. The new panel will be announced Monday. This is going to be an interesting show!

He added: And for anyone looking for advice on who too look to as an inspiration when you are auditioning for one of our shows. One name. Beyonce. And pink. And of course one direction. Who made it happen through sheer determination (sic)."

Cowell and Demi Lovato will return to the panel next season, with Britney Spears and L.A. Reid announcing their departure.

Cowell also reflected on his time at American Idol.

Randy Jackson announced he wouldn't be returning as a judge and mentor on next season's show - leaving behind current judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.

Cowell added: "Randy leaving idol made me remember that Paula [Abdul] randy me and Ryan [Seacrest' had the best time. I miss them (sic)."

Canadian songstress Carly Rae Jepsen has admitted that Justin Bieber would be fantastic as an 'American Idol' judge because he's been in the industry for so long, but is young enough to know what's popular.

During an interview with Hollywood Life, the 'Call Me Maybe' beauty explained that she believes he would rock the panel: "I think [Justin] would be great! I’m sure he’d be awesome."

When asked what skills the 'Boyfriend' star would bring to the show, Jepsen revealed that he understands what's current and relevant: "He’s got lots of great opinions when it comes to the music world, and he’s very experienced, especially for someone so young."

She then joked that she would be a terrible judge as her 'motherly' instinct would kick in and she would struggle with giving contestants criticism: "I think I would be terrible. For me, I think I would be too motherly and I would be like, ‘You should all go through! You did a great job! Let’s be friends…’”

The Voice UK contestant Alice Barlow had a "connection" with judge and mentor Danny O'Donoghue.

The wannabe singer - who has also starred on teen UK soap 'Hollyoaks' - failed to make it through last night’s battle round (May 11) after losing out to fellow contestant Andrea Begley.

Barlow says she had a great time with The Script frontman O'Donoghue though.

Speaking to British newspaper The Sun she said: “Danny is a lovely man and he is very attractive but I do have a long-term boyfriend. When we were working together we had an amazing connection, I felt like he really understood me.”

She added: “I don’t want to say whether I have been in touch with him. No comment!"

Fellow judge Jessie J took to Twitter ahead of the show last night to share her excitement, posting: "B b b b b Battle time @BBCTheVoiceUK #thevoiceuk (sic)."

The British songstress also responded to criticism she picked a "wrong song" for her female contestants.

She wrote: "Looking back I agree. We all learning right? We base it on hearing them sing for 60 seconds at the auditions. It's not easy :) (sic)."

Former Hear'Say member, Danny Foster, recently took part in the blind auditions round for the new season of 'The Voice' and surprised the coaches with an unusual song choice.

Foster found fame back in 2001 after participating in the ITV reality series 'Popstars', through which he went on to win a place in the manufactured pop act alongside band mates Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan, although he has been out of the public eye for some time now.

Despite this, the singer suited up and took the stage to show 'The Voice' panelists his vocal talents by performing a unique rendition of the Spice Girls' well-loved hit single, 'Wannabe'.

The arrangement he chose was slowed down and had funk elements to it with a ballsy vocal introduction that led the four coaches, namely Danny O'Donoghue, Jessie J, Will.i.Am and Tom Jones, to look at each other in confusion.

While the teaser clip, which shows most of Foster's audition, doesn't provide viewers with a conclusion it does show the panel whispering to each other about how "weird" the song choice is.

Dressed in a long blonde wig, a rather loud animal print dress complete with black stockings and black women's shoes, Tyler walked out in front of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj before announcing he was about to sing a song called, 'Tell Your Ma, Tell Your Pa, Our Love Going to Grow, Wah Wah.'

X Factor rejects MK1 criticise judges for 'talking throughout' their final performance

Urban duo MK1, who were voted out of The X Factor on the weekend, have hit out at some of the show's judges for chatting amongst themselves during their sing-off to decide their fate on the programme.

Charlie Rundle, 19, and Sim Dixon, 24, were kicked off the TV talent show and explained that while Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos wanted them to remain on The X Factor, panelists Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger voted to keep Kye Sones and talked during their song. Rundle said: "The whole time we were performing Gary and Nicole were just whispering to each other, and I thought, I'm trying to sing for my place and they were chatting - that's just rude."

"If I'm trying to sing for my life, don't talk through my performance."

Sim Dixon added: "And they (Barlow and Scherzinger) gave Kye full attention. It should have been a fair balance and it wasn't. We just couldn't understand what was going on last night, a few hours before our performance we got a lot of tweets from our fans telling us that the voting line for MK1 was frozen and they couldn't vote for us so we were getting really worried.

"In previous series, when that tends to happen, the act goes into the bottom two and may leave the competition. When Dermot called our name out that was really playing through our minds."

Ronan Keating has dismissed speculation that he denied Colin Farrell the chance to join Boyzone.

The popular Irishman told Daybreak that the Hollywood actor wasn't even known to him back in the day and that manager Louis Walsh wouldn't have taken his suggestions seriously anyway. He said:

"Why would Louis Walsh listen to me – I was 16."

Keating continued: "That's a bit of an odd story. I didn't even know Colin Farrell back then. It's absolutely not true."

Farrell meanwhile recently opened up about an audition he had for Boyzone when he was just 17, revealing:

"So I was on a dance floor in Dublin and I was 17, in leather trousers and a rubber T-shirt - I'll spare no embarrassing details - when Louis Walsh came up to me and said, 'I'm forming a band, they're going to be huge, do you want to be in it?'."

The 'Total Recall' actor added: "I said, 'Yeah', so I went to an audition the next day and there were 150 lads outside the door with various spray-tans, tight T-shirts, etc. I went in and sang 'Careless Whisper' twice...they asked me to sing it again because they couldn't believe how shocking I was!"

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato explain X Factor USA stage 'walk off'

After reports surfaced about Britney Spears and Demi Lovato's untimely exit from the X Factor USA panel on July 10, the pair have now opened up about their decision to walk away mid-auditions.

During the auditions round in Greensboro, North Carolina earlier this week a contestant attempted to wow the judges with a rendition of Spears' well-loved hit single, '(You Drive Me) Crazy'.

Unfortunately his version of the song was less than pleasing to the ears of the panelists and his performance prompted both Spears and Lovato to head backstage for an unannounced break.

Speaking after the show's taping, the 'Till The World Ends' pop sensation explained that once Lovato got up from the table she decided it was time to leave as well: "She was like, 'Let's go!' And I was like, 'OK.' It was our dinner break, anyway. I usually can't look (at contestants) when they're bad."

Lovato added: "I was really uncomfortable because I was like, 'Oh my gosh, he's on the floor crying because he thinks he's done such a good job.' I felt so bad. I laughed at first, but then I felt bad."

Fellow judge LA Reid also talked about the audition and described it as "horrific": "It was just horrible. The truth is he was horrific. We just couldn't take it anymore. Simon has a little more tolerance and more patience than we do."
