While Mallette has previously spoken out in favour of the 'Like A Love Song' beauty, telling Ellen DeGeneres that "she’s good for him and they’re great together”, during a new interview on 'Today' in the U.S. she explained that she supports his decisions regarding his love life:

"You know, I just try and support whatever he's wanting," she confessed, without giving anything away.

"I think [Selena is] a sweetheart, and whatever they decide is great."

Meanwhile, Bieber recently made music history by becoming the youngest artist to have achieved 5 No.1 charting albums with the release of his latest offering, 'Believe Acoustic'.

Tweeting about his continued success earlier today (February 7), the 'Boyfriend' singer wrote: "If u wanna succeed u gotta put in the work."

Yesterday (February 6), the Canadian became the first artist to achieve five No.1 albums in America before the age of 19.

He was previously tied with Miley Cyrus, who has had four No.1 albums before turning 19.

The record was created after his new album 'Believe Acoustic' topped the Billboard charts after selling 211,000 copies.

Taking to Twitter as he heard the news, Bieber said: "GREAT DAY".

The 'Boyfriend' star meanwhile is only one of ten artists in history to have four No.1 albums in four consecutive years in the US.

Bieber meanwhile is due to host and perform on iconic TV show Saturday Night Live this weekend (February 9).

After sitting down for an interview with the well-loved TV host, during which he showed off his enviable abs, Bieber was then invited to play a game where he had to throw objects through a basketball hoop.

One of the items he was asked to launch into the hoop was the head of a mannequin and Bieber took it in both hands and began making out to it, which sent the audience wild and caused them all to whoop and scream.

Fallon caught sight of the kiss and yelled out: "Hey, whoa whoa whoa! Don't fall in love! Don't fall in love! Justin, don't fall in love with her. Justin, hey, Justin!"

The clip has since been uploaded to video hosting site YouTube and it has attracted many comments based on the superstar's kissing technique, with one user writing: "That moment when you are jealous of a mannequin..."

Another added excitedly: "Holy sh*t. he looks a f**king amazing kisser."

The singer found fame after being discovered on YouTube as a young teenager in 2008 by manager Scooter Braun.

Speaking on the Jimmy Fallon show, Bieber said his tunes reveal that he is an "artist" - not a "made" pop product. He said:

"It's just good music. It just shows that I wasn't made, I was found on YouTube and it shows people music is music. That's what you need to focus on - listening to the music. I'm an artist. I want to show people what I love to do."

The 'Boyfriend' star added that his new album 'Believe Acoustic' highlights his YouTube roots, explaining:

"I wanted to basically strip it down so it's just me and an acoustic guitar. Some of it is me and a piano but most of it is just raw me. I think the fans really like it because it's just kind of how I started. I started with just me on the internet. Not really with all the produced pop music and so it's just that it's just really mellowed down and I feel like it's made for all ages."

Bieber meanwhile also took to kissing a mannequin whilst on the show - promptly sending Twitter wild as a result.

The Sun reports that British Prime Minister David Cameron included the prize - which amounts to four fans meeting the superstar in London - as part of the Tories' Black and White Party auction, which raises money for election campaigns.

The meeting, which will take place at London's O2 Arena in March, was snapped up for a cool a £10,000.

However, it is said Bieber is unaware of the auction and could object if he deems it necessary.

A spokeswoman for Universal Music UK said that the 'Boyfriend' star "wouldn't expect to be informed" about who received the passes.

The lot's information meanwhile read: "The four golden ticket holders will get the chance to go backstage to meet face-to-face with the gorgeous teen heart-throb."

Bieber took to his Twitter account today to muse about the absurd interest in his personal affairs, writing: "some of these rumors about me are getting a little out of control now. dont believe the bs. gonna focus on the positive. i understand that rumors come with the territory but im gonna stay me.

He added: focus on the music. u wanna know what im about...it is all right there. #BELIEVEacoustic (sic)."

In a recent interview with Billboard, Bieber confessed: "I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been. I'm trying to get through what I'm going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going."

The record was released at the beginning of the week (January 29) and Billboard.com now reports that the cut is set to shift between 180,000 to 190,000 copies when the sales week ends on Sunday, February 3.

If he maintains the strong figures, Bieber will shoot straight in at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, giving him his fifth overall American No.1 record, which is an impressive feat.

In addition to this achievement, it would also give him a number one album in four consecutive years, which is an milestone only nine other acts have managed in the U.S. chart's 57-year history.

Tweeting about the release a few days ago, Bieber thanked his fans for "respecting" such a personal piece of work and wrote: "Seeing alot of people out there loving but even more so respecting the #BELIEVEacoustic album. means alot. It is all about the Music. thanks."

The singer and actress is widely reported to have split from boyfriend Justin Bieber after a number of years together.

Whilst there has been no official confirmation of their split, there has been suggestion of heartbreak in recent interviews.

However, Gomez hinted to Extra that she has someting of a crush on One Direction star Zayn Malik. Speaking about his reported admiration for her, Gomez said:

"That's really nice! I love all of them. They're so sweet. They're really good guys."

She was then asked which member of the group she would kiss, replying: "Oh no… Zayn!"

The singer raised eyebrows recently when a photo emerged of the singer and a female fan online.

It seems to show Bieber holding one of her breasts as they pose for the camera.

A rep for the 'Boyfriend' star, however, has dismissed the speculation, telling E!:

"It's ridiculous. That definitely did not happen."

The fan in question meanwhile has posted on her Twitter account that she did not ask Bieber to touch her breasts, appearing to remain in good spirits over the whole incident.
