'Born To Die' songstress Lana Del Rey has revealed that she is keen to continue her charity work and is especially inspired by the philanthropic efforts of Angelina Jolie.

She was recently photographed for Le Figaro madame magazine and in the accompanying interview, Del Rey explained that while she loves music she wants to focus her attention on helping those in need:

"Music was my passion, but my work with this foundation is more important. I myself had the chance to be [helped by an establishment]. Helping others now feels like it's my turn to give something back. I want to become a sort of Angelina Jolie."

"Like her, I think fame is nothing in itself, but it can be put to good use - by using it to generate money for charity for example."

She also opened up about how she began drinking when she just 14 and added: "When you no longer drink, it is more difficult to celebrate. In fact, when I quit drinking, I lost my life. It took my all to reinvent myself. Find the roots. It was very difficult. At the same time, I had never felt rooted in whatever I've done or wherever I've been since."

Blonde bombshell Mollie King has revealed that she was so moved by the destruction caused recently by Hurricane Sandy that when she flew to New York, she took extra luggage to donate to the people affected.

Speaking to We Love Pop magazine, King explained that she had to paid excess baggage fares for the five suitcases of clothes she took to the U.S., but it was worthwhile because she felt compelled to help in any way she could:

"Everyone took about three or four cases and I took five. I got a huge fine. I gave everything I didn't wear to the Hurricane Sandy appeal in New York, which meant I could fill the empty cases with new stuff on my return! Everyone wins!"

Mental health charity slams '#cutforBieber' trend

Earlier this week, an online community played a practical joke that targeted fans of Justin Bieber who were upset after photographs of the Canadian superstar surfaced that allegedly showed him smoking marijuana.

The trending topic '#cutforBieber' made its way around the social networking site and encouraged fans to self-harm in an attempt to get the 'Boyfriend' singer to change his supposed bad boy ways.

Now, a British charity for youth mental health named YoungMinds has issued a statement on how dangerous a suggestion like this can be, especially on the internet where nothing is moderated and the audience can be easily influenced:

"Self harming is not a fashion, fad or statement. It's a signal that young people are experiencing extreme distress and need help. Cutting is a self-destructive act that is a way of coping with overwhelming emotions."

"To suggest young people cut themselves as some kind of protest is a very perverted and dangerous idea, and these people need to take responsibility and stop this activity immediately."

The beauty has been named the face of the Rock Up In Red campaign, which will take place next month, and she has been pictured in a stunning outfit to support and promote the worthy cause.

Speaking about her involvement, King explained: "If there is one thing you must do to show your support rock up in red on the first of February I really hope everyone will be joining me in the fight against heart disease. Anything goes as long as it’s red."

Last year, she confessed that the charity is especially significant to her because her grandfather passed away after suffering a heart attack when she was younger.

She is calling for fans to donate £2 to Rock Up In Red and help the fight against heart disease on February 1, 2013.
