Chelsea Michelle is set for debut album release “Treasures”

Fresh from touring with glam rock band TNT, soulful singer-songwriter Chelsea Michelle is now set for her debut album release ‘Treasures’.

Produced by Lars Lien (Larsville Studio), the album also features world renowned bass player and long time fan of Chelsea’s music Tony Levin, (who has played for Cher, John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Lou Reed, Seal, and Peter Gabriel and others). The title track from the album also comes coupled with a beautiful ambient remix from Rachel James – who is highly regarded for her work with Bowie, Sony, Steve Strange, Black Eyed Peas, and Jessie J.

Born in Swansea, Chelsea moved to her father’s hometown in Norway aged three. There, she grew up in the centre of a battle for the right to keep her name: “I had to fight for my right to be named Chelsea in Norway. They claimed it wasn’t a proper name and believed it would be connected to football over here in the UK, and that I could be bullied for it.” This, and other early tribulations, clearly had an impact on Chelsea’s strong character; which is laid bare in her music. Her soulful sound is one that could only be paired with someone who has lived an enriched life, and is not afraid to share it, frankly, with her listeners. The album was developed from a melody she initially developed at the age of six: “[it] brought back old memories and feelings from my childhood, a childhood where I felt lost, afraid, unloved and lacked confidence... My songs are honest, vulnerable and also full of hope.”

Music icon Cher has revealed that her forthcoming new album is the one she's the most proud of and described it as 'about being fabulous'.

Speaking to Georgia Holt on '20/20', the 'If I Could Turn Back Time' superstar explained that out of all of her records it's most like 'Believe' and she can't wait to share it with her fans:

"It's about being fabulous. Truthfully, I'm not a huge Cher fan and I've said this many times, but I think this is the best album I've ever done. The songs are so brilliant. I got so lucky. The closest thing to this album I think is the 'Believe' album."

She previously revealed that she had recorded a duet with pop sensation Lady Gaga for the collection of songs, but is now unsure whether the track is likely to make the final cut: "Lady GaGa may not want to be on the album."

'Shine Ya Light' beauty Rita Ora has admitted that she's so glad not to have taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest when she was 17 as it never does anything positive for anyone's music career.

2013's Eurovision took place over the weekend (May 18) and saw the UK's entry, which was 'Believe In Me' by Bonnie Tyler (pictured below), finishing in 19th place. Ora told British magazine Event that she initially saw the opportunity as a chance to sing in front of the world, but soon realised it was a bad idea:

"I did it because I thought it was a chance to sing, but then I felt inside that it wasn't right for me. I was chosen to perform and sang Ain't No Sunshine in front of people like Andrew Lloyd Webber and got through to the next stage (of the auditions)."

"I was incredibly nervous because I was just 17 and I was making this really big decision to pull out. Amazingly, the BBC producers were unbelievably kind and supportive, which made me feel more sure of myself artistically. I wasn't going because I had another option, I was going because it wasn't right."

Demi Lovato has discussed how her collaboration with Cher Lloyd came about.

The pair recently teamed up for the track 'Really Don't Care', which features on the X Factor USA judge's new album 'DEMI'.

Speaking to MTV, Lovato said that her family helped raise the idea of working with the British singer - and it was something she wholeheartedly agreed with. The star said:

"Well first of all, my mom loves Cher Lloyd and my little sister loves Cher Lloyd. And I love her too. She has so much sass and attitude. They were really wanting me to do a duet with her. And so I was thinking who else would be more fun to do a collaboration with than a powerful, sassy attitude-filled girl? And there's just nobody else out there. She fit perfectly on that song."

Lovato added that X Factor colleague LA Reid - whose label signed Lloyd in the US - helped sort out the collaboration.

The singer and Lloyd meanwhile recently performed 'Really Don't Care' live in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

The British star appears on the X Factor USA judge's forthcoming new album 'DEMI' in the shape of the collaboration 'Really Don't Care'.

Speaking to MTV, Lloyd said that she is a genuine fan of Lovato and that she was champing at the bit to put her spin on the track. She said:

"First of all, I love the song. Like, I really love the song. And I was very excited to put my kind of twist on it. I have 'Skyscraper' and I am constantly listening to it, and I can gladly say that it makes me tear up a little bit."

The 'Sticks & Stones' star continued: "I mean, that girl can really sing, and it's so different. That's the thing, nowadays it's so important to be able to be recognised and to be on the radio and for people to know automatically it's you. And Demi has that and that's something I really look up to."

The tune will be recorded for fruit ice cream brand Fruttare and is based around a positive message of looking on the bright side.

Earlier today (April 10) Lloyd, who is currently in the studio working on her second album tweeted: “Excited to announce I’m collabing w/@NeYoCompound + @Fruttare on a song inspired by how YOU define #itsallgood!”

When asked about the song, Ne-Yo told TheDrop.fm “I dug the [project]. I’m an upbeat, glass half full kind of person. So the hashtag, ‘It’s all good,’ and looking at the brighter side of things are how I’ve always been. So it just made sense to do a project like this. Plus, I really like popsicles.”
