Canadian sensation Justin Bieber may have been booed at last night's (May 19) Billboard Music Awards ceremony, but he now has a new achievement that is sure to make him very happy.

The star's hit single 'Baby', which has gone 12 times Platinum since its release in 2010, has been named the highest certified song in American music history.

The 'Boyfriend' heartthrob has now beaten Elton John's double-sided 'Candle in the Wind/Something About the Way You Look Tonight,' which went 11 times platinum back in 1997 and previously held the impressive record.

The recent change made by the Recording Industry Association of America, which incorporates on-demand streaming data when it comes to measuring gold and platinum success, helped Bieber in reaching the feat as 100 streams is now considered equivalent to one download.

Avril Lavigne can't stop smiling when asked if her wedding will be in France

Pop-rocker Avril Lavigne has opened up about her impending wedding and her new music during an interview with 92.3 NOW FM.

While she hasn't revealed the date of the ceremony, in which she will marry Nickelback's frontman, she explained that "the most fun part, so far, has been coming up with the location." When asked if the location was Paris or France, the 'Sk8er Boi' star couldn't stop grinning and joked, "I'm just smiling!"

Several other allusions were made to the country during the chat and they all got the same response from the beauty.

Despite enjoying most of the planning, Lavigne explained that getting people's information for invites has been very stressful: "The one thing that was the pain in the ass was getting everyone's names and addresses and all of that stuff."

Speaking about her music video for 'Here's To Never Growing Up', which she co-wrote with fiancé Chad Kroeger, she explained that there were several ideas for the video direction: "I had my original idea and then we had a bunch of different directors submit concepts. The guy we went with had the idea to do it around prom. I loved that. It's like a throwback."

Speaking from the Billboard Music Awards' 'blue carpet' last night (May 19), the 'Lego House' superstar explained that there was a delay because of his current 'Red' tour with Taylor Swift, but progress is being made:

"I turned it in today. It's (due) early next year. It was going to be this year but I don't finish touring till October and then there's no time to get a plan together. I'm going to spend October, November, December planning and then just smash it out next year."

Piers Morgan has admitted that he has no regrets about insulting Rihanna, because it led directly to an interview with the star.

The former Daily Mirror editor and Britain’s Got Talent judge angered the ‘We Found Love’ chart-topper after passing comment on her hairstyle during the Paralympics closing ceremony.

However, the CNN host told the Daily Star that the pair’s brief Twitter war has resulted in the Bajan singer agreeing to appear on his Piers Morgan Tonight show:

“I tweeted that she should go back to her old hairstyle and then she tweeted back that I should grow a dick.

“On the back of that, I asked if I could interview her for my show in the States and she agreed.

“I was up all night sorting it out but I managed to bag an interview out of it.”

Noel Gallagher: Russell Brand murdered The Beatles at Olympics closing ceremony

Noel Gallagher has joked that Russell Brand murdered The Beatles during his performance at the Olympics’ closing ceremony.

The former Oasis guitarist, whose song 'Wonderwall' was covered by Beady Eye at the same event, told Q magazine that he wasn’t exactly impressed with his comedian friend’s rendition of 'I Am The Walrus.'

“I sent him a message straight after the Olympics, saying words to the effect of, 'After two weeks of glory, to have left it to a f***ing junkie in a top hat murdering The Beatles to round off what was a brilliant celebration of Great Britain…'

“He’s on tour at the minute and he plays that message to the crowd every night. Then he calls me on my answering machine – it’s become part of his act.”

The 45-year-old, who regularly appeared as a guest on Russell Brand’s Radio 2 show, then taunted the star about his relationship with Geri Halliwell:

“I don’t answer the phone, because I know what he’s fucking doing. So I get these messages every morning. The people of Weston-Super-Mare are in hysterics, with him saying, “Murdering The Beatles? At least I didn’t dig’ em up and base my career on ‘em.”

“But you know at least I’m not shagging Geri Halliwell. I mean f***ing hell, out of all the Spice Girls – not Ginger.”

The 49-year-old, who is currently working on the follow-up to 2004’s 'Patience,' told Austria’s Kurier.at that he hopes to release the as-yet-untitled record next year:

“I'm back in the studio working very hard and love it. I would say this album is in terms of content somewhere between Faith and Older and is perhaps the most radio-friendly music [I've produced] for a very long time. I'm sure my fans will like it."

The former Wham singer, who recently dedicated a concert in Vienna to the staff who monitored his recovery from pneumonia, went on to defend his decision to perform new single, 'White Light,' at the Olympics closing ceremony:

"The lyrics seemed to me especially appropriate for the occasion. Of course they play on my fight with pneumonia, but the message can also accompany one of the overarching themes of the Olympic Games, namely overcoming adversity and physical stamina."
